Could be anything really and am hoping it’s this is a lighthearted thread.

I live less than 100 metres from the beach but hardly ever go there. I love “knowing” it’s there but seem to also forget it’s there somehow.

So what do you perhaps take for granted or don’t realise how others would appreciate it?

A car. I do about 1k miles a year max because its parked in my allocated disabled bay with my blue badge. If I move from my space (white marked), I can't get parked again for days. So I'm scared to move it.

I should just get rid of it. But I like the security of having it.

TheGamblersGone · 19/04/2025 22:33

There’s something sad about this thread. I guess I have a lovely life within reach but I can’t seem to enjoy it

Bellyblueboy · 19/04/2025 22:35

Beautiful new pool and huge gym in walking distance. Only go about once every six months😩.

might ago tomorrow (I won’t)

sweeneytoddsrazor · 19/04/2025 22:35

Bread maker hasn't been used in a long time.

I think generally a lot of people don't visit stuff that is on their doorstep so to speak, but do the whole touristy bit in other places. I love visiting churches and cathedrals but rarely visit any in my home city.

SpottedDonkey · 19/04/2025 22:37

A big garden. We could have vegetable beds, displays of colourful blooms, bountiful fruit bushes, a greenhouse, a big shed containing useful horticultural implements etc etc, but because I have zero interest in gardening & DP has zero time for gardening we have none of this. It’s just scruffy grass (‘lawn’ would be overstating it) & overgrown shrubs. I rarely venture out there.

MaggieLouLove · 19/04/2025 22:37

friends got me an innapropriate toy a couple birthdays ago 🤣🤣🤣 never used it and it’s hidden out of fear my kids find it… maybe one day

Giggorata · 19/04/2025 22:38

A theremin. I always wanted one and got given one at last… and I have barely touched it (shame😔)

Ollybob · 19/04/2025 22:38

Gym membership.... And it's free via work and about 10 minutes walk away( 2 mins drive!)

A sauna. Was built by previous owners. Currently houses our Christmas decs. 🤣🤣

I can't imagine not using a sauna. What a waste.

I have a quadbike I never use. Used it a few times years ago but that it.

Have you got access to the garden without going through the house? My Ex’s gran had a big garden she couldn’t manage and she found a local young couple who wanted a garden but lived in a flat. They cultivated her garden and she got a share of what they grew and the joy of sitting out in a beautiful space.

PermanentTemporary · 19/04/2025 23:04

@spotteddonkey since we employed a gardener I have done about five times as much gardening as I've ever done before - admittedly that was almost nothing so it's still not a lot, but just not worrying about it going to rack and ruin means I enjoy going out there.

A guitar and a piano. I did six months of guitar lessons 30 years ago, and grade 4 piano. Don't touch either, not even in lockdown.

Barney16 · 19/04/2025 23:05

A Marni blazer. Cost a fortune and is beautiful but I haven't ever worn it. I just look at it every so often.

HeyItsPickleRick · 19/04/2025 23:06

We have several acres of gardens - not just field but actual gardens. Have gardeners to maintain but I rarely go out there. My husband and kids do a bit more but to be honest I work all week then like to get out and about on the weekends or stay in the house.

Souredgrapes · 19/04/2025 23:06

An out door pizza oven and an indoor pizza oven as well . To much hard work cooking from scratch for either and I’m “not allowed” to even think about putting a shop bought pizza in either . 😆

HeyItsPickleRick · 19/04/2025 23:07

Oh also a wine cellar but I would drink too much if I stuffed it full of lovely wine so just buy what we need when we want it

Exhausteddog · 19/04/2025 23:08

We have a "spare" toilet in our house. It's next to the bathroom, but the bathroom also has a toilet in it.
When we moved in, it was an awful brown actual toilet, and horrible wallpaper. We revamped it but it almost never gets used!
The only time I go in there is to clean it!

I've lived in Florence for over 30 years & have never been to the Uffizzi, Duomo etc.....

This is truly diabolical! Such beauty to behold …

I love ours, i often just sit in it to have a bit of peace using the pretence of choosing a bottle.

Books are our problem. Too many to count, but I don’t read them. I download everything to my phone (or kindle if in the sun). Probably terrible for my eyes, but means I can read into the night without a light or holding up a book. I’m never without something to read, I literally have my library in my pocket and can read whilst holding on to the tube pole even in rush hour (impossible with a hardback!!).

RedhairDL · 19/04/2025 23:21

5 horses, but I was allergic.

uncomfortablydumb60 · 19/04/2025 23:27

Pet insurance for my Souldog

Moltenpink · 19/04/2025 23:27

Not strictly never use. But I live in walking distance of Manchester airport, and last week we went on holiday… from Heathrow 🤦‍♀️

XenoBitch · 19/04/2025 23:28

My appendix?
The other day, I thought it was about to blow up. Nope... ovulation pains.
