DH has given me the ick

My sister’s friend was kicked out of her home by her partner after she admitted she’d been unfaithful. Without anywhere else to go, my sister invited her to stay with her family - DP and her two DC.

We visited them a last week and met her colleague for the first time. On the journey back DH said something along the lines of, ‘she (my sister) is asking for trouble. She (her friend) looks much younger, is prettier and licentious (polite way of calling her a slag, I guess). My sister’s DP is a very decent man but I know things have been strained between them.

I am abit put out by his comments on her looks and behaviour but part of me wonders how realistic he is being.

It’s not inherently about trust as such.

It’s about human nature. A lot of people men or women would take it if offered on a plate and thought they would get away with it. So why would you deliberately bet against yourself by bringing the temptation home when you know one actually cheats.

It’s like people who speed they do it thinking hoping they won’t get caught, some do. People are more likely to do it where they know there are definitely not speed cameras but might get caught out by the random speed check van.

It’s the if you found £100 Cash just laying on the street how many people genuinely would try and return it vs how many would keep quiet and pocket it.

Lots of people who are otherwise lovely people will do things you wouldn’t think they would when they think nobody is looking or will find out.

How many posts of he / she wouldn’t. They never have the time. We have an open phone policy. They swear. They hate cheaters. They just aren’t the type. But they where 🤷🏻‍♀️
