No they are not. I used to work on one and they are for people who are severely mentally unwell and in crisis. It could happen to any of us and who would want to have to share space with this pervert? He will have some sort of personality disorder as well as god only knows what fetishes. Highly anti-social and more than likely a risk to others but not someone who appears to be currently psychotic.

Yes I said to DH earlier that it’s a real shame the asylums closed. He’s a classic case of somebody who needs an indefinite hospital order.

That's absolutely disgusting and dangerous for the kids and adults alike, as well as being one of the most disturbing things I've ever read on here. He needs to be locked up for a long time - preferably in a psychiatric hospital.

And I'm not anti-trans. I have encountered a handful of trans individuals through my work and through my teenagers' social circles, and really feel for those than feel confused about their gender. I really don't think this is one of these cases though. He quite obviously presents as a man! Bet he hoped if he was sentenced as a female he would get a lighter sentence or a women's prison.

This is why we need to stop being bothered by being called 'transphobic'.

There was a thread a few days ago about someone whose adult child had a partner who was claiming she was a transman, even though she appeared very girly and all she had done was change her pronouns ? I was like "nah" that's not someone with gender dysphoria. She didn't seem distressed by being female. No hormones, surgery etc
