I earn 3x what my wife does but I see her work as far more valuable to society than what I do. It's strange we pay footballers and MPs a fortune but the people that keep society going are valued much less.

Nope. It’s just you. I’m happy for DH to earn half what I do. He’s worked hard his whole life and at 56 I’m glad he’s not in the sort of job that would tear him apart. He loves pottery and gardening and I gain from those things too.
