Gave Granddaughter's Mum £250 towards her 3rd birthday party

She couldn't decide which nursery friends to invite. Whether it would be 360 or local Wacky.

I gave her £250 towards either.

She's going to Sea-Life Centre with her Mum.

So, not only no party. No invite either.

I'm a bit pissed off to be honest.

I wouldn’t blame the OP for not returning to this post. Some of the comments have been vile and judgmental 🙄

Thank you.

I was looking for the Mothers Day thread I started and saw your first 2 lines.

I haven't read any comments since I last posted about all the made up nonsense being spouted.
I have no inclination to read or reply to anyone. The facts are there.

I've just heard from GDs Mum, we've been texting all week. I know where the money has gone. I've seen pictures of where it has gone. GD is going to have such a wonderfully fun garden in their first proper home.
She's a very lucky girl!!

Actually I will give some details - for all those vested in the intricate details of my life.

Unfortunately I'm not sure I'll make it over to see her this week.
My Provera has stopped working. Every time I stand or move I'm gushing fountains of blood from my vagina until either 1 massive clot passes, or several just large clots.

I'm having the Always Extra long pads for sensitive bladder due to the volume of blood.
Often a clot will just sit on top of the pad. I know it's there, I feel it come out.
Imagine a raw calves liver sat on top of a pad and losing several more in to the toilet whilst you're trying to remove pad and massive bloody clot.

It's a bit of a nightmare really. There's no way I'd be able to to bus to GD without leaking blood everywhere.

It's been going on since November.

I was due in end of April for hysterectomy, but that's since been postponed.

So I'm just going to have to put up with vile pads whilst ignoring vile posters.

All my love and thank you for abusing my entire family.
We appreciate your time and frothing.

Obviously that wasn't for the nice posters
You can all have an Easter Egg! Yay!

Bunny's coming!

I had terrible problems with passing clots, etc when I was in my late 50s. I was teaching at the time. Nightmare. Night time pads and running out to the loo at the end of a 55 minute lesson...I was on HRT at the time, but I hit a stage where it stopped helping.

I was fortunate in that it finally stopped without further intervention, but I recall that a colleague had an ablation and didn't need a hysterectomy.

Hoping that things improve for you.

I will reply bless you. I did read that.

It's awful isn't it? I've not known anything like it. I'm on HRT too with progesterone plus extra progesterone from Provera.

Not working!

Thank you so much. Keeping fingers crossed! It's just a nightmare not being able to make a plan. I was all set to take GD to softplay (yuk!) but I can't, I'd have to be popping to the loo every 20 minutes and she'd have to come with me and poor girl would be terrified.

Anyway, that's me away from this thread. I only wrote that update for those who have been so vile and have been waiting for an update

Well they've got one!

Take care x

This must be so awful for you.
I hope it can be fixed quickly x

TheBuffetInspector · 16/04/2025 14:08

Well things have escalated. Got much worse much sooner than expected.

Spoke to GP reception. Lines closed at 1 (1.07). Call 111.
If I don't hear from the clinician within 45 minutes they're automatically sending ambulance.

I am not going to sit in A&E bleeding through my trousers on to chairs and floor. Fingers crossed for phone call then xxx

Sorry sending kisses like texting my Mum!

Share the love!

Blimey OP, you poor thing. If you ask in hospital they should be able to provide you with some adult size nappies. Not very dignified, but better than bleeding through everything.

I’m glad to hear you’ve cleared the air with your granddaughter’s mum. The cynic in me thinks she’s spun you a line, the money is long gone, and she intends to get money from somewhere else to do the garden and pretend that that was always the plan. No point worrying about it now, but in future I advise asking her what she wants you to buy and then paying for it directly yourself.

MarxistMags · 16/04/2025 16:34

I really do hope you are better soon
I can't imagine how distressing that must be for you.
Good luck for getting sorted ASAP. X

TheBuffetInspector · 16/04/2025 17:42

Bless you lovely people. I must note that not everyone is a... I'm not even going to swear, it's been such an exhausting afternoon. I'm all of swearwords and hilarious comebacks 🤔.

So, gp 111 111 111 gp gp. Night!

Nah. I'm going in Thursday to gynae after gp called them regarding my appointment being postponed and obviously gave it some welly. I'm not actually entirely sure whether that's op or not. Can't be. I don't know.
They're not actually too concerned about liquid blood loss as it was only coming every time part of my body expelled itself.
GP concerned though as the last... Tmi gush, followed by palm sized clot wasn't actually blood. It was a big one soaked everywhere around the Tena, through trousers, through sofa. I was no no nooo noooo. Got to bathroom and it was all clear(ish) liquid (it wasn't wee!). Cue - definitely no possibility of pregnancy /recent pregnancy /recent birth?
What? I was scanned in January!
I absolutely don't know. I'm too tired to think.
I was texting GD Mum in tears from the toilet. I do love her. We've had our ups and downs. It's difficult when the 'kids have split up'. There has been ooh a whole lot of itchiness. I'm essentially MIL! But I got a Moonpig card and ratty teddy? Miserable git. Scruffy? Anyway just something for GD so she knows I haven't forgotten her. I don't know when I'll see her next.
I've just burst in to tears!!
I was going to write hang on a minute, but we're hardly live streaming. I need a moment though, so I'm taking one...

I took a few.

@ThreePointOneFourOneFiveNine you cynic you!
Tsk Tsk Tsk.

Now I feel a right cow! She video called and opened the garden shed (I'm not happy about that, I want a shed!) and it's got the... What's the name? Not Tommee Tippee... Little Tikes! The 'big' slide, a coupe car and a sandpit shell all nearly ready to go. Those slides were only 2 bolts as I recall 🤔😂
It's such a shame their new home is in another town, but I'll soon be over there when sorted.

I never doubted her! Not for a second! I'm such an arsehole!!! 🤣

I'm actually really not. I'm on a bed. I've been given anti emetic as I kept being sick and losing more clots.
I've had bloods done.
I'm just waiting and sleeping when I can.
I'm not going to come back to this thread as I have no energy anymore xx

I just wanted to say that I spent Granddaughter's birthday in hospital. I saw the photos yesterday catching up with Mum and it looks like she had a wonderful day ❤️
Health issues ongoing for me, but we're going to meet up as soon as I'm well enough.
All in all, this post was pointless in the grand scheme of things. We have a lot of love for each other. Yes, I was put out, yes I was disappointed, yes I was suspicious. The main things that came to light though were health, happiness and love ❤️

FiveBarGate · 24/04/2025 12:10

Sorry you are still suffering @TheBuffetInspector

Your post wasn't pointless, it let you vent here (and some posters deserved it!) rather than at your DIL. Better to process it that way.

I'm sure she'll get more out of the garden toys than a two hour party.

Hope they've given you an iron infusion and you are on high strength dose.

WilfredsPies · 24/04/2025 12:16

Wishing you a speedy recovery OP.

And I don’t think it was pointless. You got it off your chest and reasoned it all out. Better done with us than falling out with a loved one.

Keep concentrating on that day when you’re feeling better and you can have that lovely picnic in the park with your darling girl when she tells you how much she loves her birthday stuff.

WearyAuldWumman · 24/04/2025 13:53

I agree with folk above - sometimes a good vent helps.

highincalifornia · 24/04/2025 14:50

You come across as such a lovely person OP, who puts love and family above all else, your GD is so lucky to have you. I’m so sorry that you are having these health battles when you’d love to spend time with your GD. Your post wasn’t pointless: you vented, you realised even if the money was blown and GD had a day out with other Nanna, it didn’t matter because she’d still have you and loves you, that your GD’s mum also clearly knows how lucky she is to have you, and that random people on Mumsnet ( me ) think you sound great. Hope you get out and spend time with GD soon.

I vent on here because it saves me venting to the person and causing a row. Also because people either tell me I've got a point or that I need to get out of my own way...
I hope you're feeling better soon and can have a belated celebration with your lovely family.
