M&S customers are a nuisance

I went into M&S Food today and every customer I came across was absolutely oblivious to anyone else in that store. It's like Percy Pigs over morals.

I went into m and s today and had a fantastic time!
Maybe it’s your area that’s rough?

Were you having this fantastic time in the manager’s office?

I never see anyone else shopping in our nearest Morrison's yet there's always queues for the checkouts and the 3 working self checkouts.

That place is a mystery. Somehow that one customer walking the isles will randomly stop right in front of you and stare in to the distance like they’re waiting for the grocery gods to send them a sign.

Fagli · 28/03/2025 22:22

Oneandahalfonagoodday · 28/03/2025 20:40

Oh no, I'm so sorry, how degrading for you! Are you still banned from Fortnum's after that ugly incident with the caviar? 😉😂

Unfortunately yes, have had to slum it in the Selfridges food hall. I stand by it though, never back down, never surrender!!

Aworldofwonder · 28/03/2025 22:27

I do not see the appeal of that place at all. It's basically over priced ready meals. Gross

M & Who?

They are dead to me since they discontinued the syrup sponge pudding last year, the one I that I had been buying since the 1990's. DEAD.

Dead to me since they discontinued the Christmas Boule!!!!

EdithBond · 28/03/2025 22:28

Percy Pigs are about the only thing that’s affordable in M&S.

niuwyoosername · 28/03/2025 22:35

Slowness is perhaps down to the fact that the only people who can afford to shop there these days are the wealthy pensioners?

mindingmyown37 · 28/03/2025 22:37

Don’t have to much of an issue in my 2 local M&S apart from at Christmas, when everyone seems to lose thier heads, which I know most shoppers do at Christmas but it seems to be ten fold in M&S. the amount of shopping rage I get in there at Xmas is unreal.
also the sparks card is basically pointless, I think in the 2 years I’ve had it, it’s given me exactly 3 vouchers food wise that I’ve actually used. The rest is for stuff I’ve never bought in my life.

What would I know? I don't eat chips so not an aisle I venture down

You don't eat chips? Now that's a percy pig pie

OudAndRose · 28/03/2025 23:07

HarperStern · 28/03/2025 18:15

Ha, my local M&S is totally like this. Full of people who have come shopping in gangs (OK couples) and stand mid-aisle blocking everyone with their trolleys taking an age to choose between mash and luxury mash.

In our case it's because the company decided to make the food hall smaller and squeeze an unnecessary cafe in. Still not over it. Will moan about it to my dying day.

I got aisle blocked last week by two girls in their late teens / early twenties doing a dance in the aisle. It wasn't for Tik Tok or the like, they were just enjoying themselves. M&S is that delicious it will do that to you imo.

You don't eat chips???

Well that calls everything you've said into question 🤔

SleepyZzz · 28/03/2025 23:08

Snorlaxo · 28/03/2025 17:06

Were they were looking for steak cut chips ?

No, they were looking for Percy Pig.

Treesandsheepeverywhere · 28/03/2025 23:08

Sounds like you were in Charlton SE London branch OP.

Clapham branch introduced kiddie trollies.
Someone was actually paid for the idea of having toddlers pushing their own trolly next to mummy and daddy.

I still get these at Ocado and M&S.

Love the Charlton branch, was there today. What's up with it?

A joke about a post on page 1.

My local one is filled with students - Chinese and other overseas university students. I think there's possibly a good variety of types and quality of food there than other places.

Can you link please??

DamnAlabama · 29/03/2025 10:29

Some of the food items mentioned on this thread sound divine! What I shame I never see half of them on there thanks to bumbling Susan and her trolley constantly in the way

There are many aisles. Failing the use of a polite "excuse me!" I would just go round the other way.
Why are you so intolerant of other shoppers?. It's not your personal space.

SuspiciousChipmunk · 29/03/2025 11:19

I love a good thread about M&S. I bought a top form there last year. I’m really turning into my mother!

I’m going to my M&S food hall this afternoon.

CountryQueen · 29/03/2025 11:38

daisychain01 · 28/03/2025 17:12

I was only thinking the other day that the M&S poster hadn't been on here lately and lo and behold you're here. Hope you're well and that you'll be getting something nice for Easter with your Sparks points.

Haha totally.

Needmorelego · 29/03/2025 11:44

I sent my mum an M+S voucher for Mother's Day.
Am I a bad daughter?

SkiAndTravelTheWorldWithMyDog · 29/03/2025 12:08

Were they in the M&S in Broughton by the fish about 10 days ago?
