M&S customers are a nuisance

DamnAlabama · 28/03/2025 17:05

I went into M&S Food today and every customer I came across was absolutely oblivious to anyone else in that store. It's like Percy Pigs over morals.

Cash? No, not for about 10 years.

😂Oh good for you.

They also stopped a rather spectacular raspberry mousse decades ago. It was my daily treat.
Bastards!

I remember a delicious lemon mousse from eons ago!

My son always called it Marks and Spensives 😁.

Waitrose has now become expensive as M&S.

Go to Asda at Charlton SE London. It’s like Hunger Games but often people are in their pj’s.

Hehe I used to shop there. I saw a fisty fight in the wine aisle once!

Bluevelvetsofa · 28/03/2025 18:51

Our M&S Food is fairly civilised, but maybe that’s because there are five big supermarkets in walking distance of ten minutes. Sainsbury’s car park today though! Utterly random!

RainbowUnicorse · 28/03/2025 18:51

Cannot recommend Asda enough 👍 polite, smiley, considerate people 🙌

Heh! I sent your comment to my DS, who lives near, but not in Charlton. His comment:

Was in there last week funnily enough. Yes it's rough but it ain't got shit on B&M or Home Bargains. Saw two women having a fight in there once. C word was used.

Yougetmoreofwhatyoufocuson · 28/03/2025 18:37

Colchester?

No not Colchester.
Kettering 😂

MrsCarson · 28/03/2025 18:55

I was so busy one day I went to M&S on the way home after tea time, it was deserted. Bloody lovely. So now if I need to go there I go late there's lots of parking and no one about.

SapphireSeptember · 28/03/2025 18:56

@Bluevelvetsofa where's that? Sounds a bit like Huntingdon which has Sainsbury's, M&S and Iceland right in the centre (and a B&M which is brilliant) and then Aldi and Lidl up the road, with Tesco (and another B&M) on the other side of town, although still in walking distance. I don't live there anymore and miss it. 🥺

Needmorelego · 28/03/2025 18:57

GirlWhatHaveYouDoneYoureAPinkPonyGirl · 28/03/2025 18:38

Sounds like a certain city of culture?

No....(see above ^)
Of course no one in Kettering, Colchester or the city of culture (Hull?) will admit that no other town is as awful as their own one.
Everywhere else is better.
Oh and it's the councils fault. It's always their fault.
😂😂😂😂😂

Bradford?

The staff are great but the queues are always massive because the customers are SO SLOW. I don’t know what it is about that shop that makes people take twice as long to unload their stuff at the till and pay

Normally Jeeves does the grocery run for them so they’re not quite sure how to load a conveyor belt?

LasagneLasagne · 28/03/2025 18:58

Tesco are worse, with their sodding click and collect pickers and their massive trolleys, who huff and tut at customers who want to get past. Probably my fault for shopping on a Friday morning though, there were LOADS of them.

Calliopespa · 28/03/2025 19:01

TheCountofMountingCrispBags · 28/03/2025 17:53

Oh, that's so sad! No chips??
No wonder people come across as nuisances. They are revelling in the taste, feel and fun of chips

And maybe op is hangry …

madaboutpurple · 28/03/2025 19:02

Other supermarkets are available. My nearest M&S food hall is now closed so I don't have that opportunity anymore .Sorry OP I am just annoyed it has gone.

Doggydoctor · 28/03/2025 19:04

Our local one is lovely quite a big one. I use the hand held scanner fab.

LasagneLasagne · 28/03/2025 19:08

Thedogscollar · 28/03/2025 17:33

You need to shop in Aldi, all very polite in there😊

I like Aldi. Always have a little chat with the cashier. I thought the woman on the till was gossiping with me the other week about a man she had seen stuffing his jacket with booze, and who was now leaving...but she was talking into her headset.

Tulipsonthetable · 28/03/2025 19:08

Just sipping my M&S Mojito that I purchased earlier.
Customers were all good.
Cheers 🍸

ByEdgyPeer · 28/03/2025 19:08

Not limited to M&S, most people become an inconsiderate, entitled asshole the second they enter a supermarket.

Toottooot · 28/03/2025 18:05

Not one person I have ever known has called it ‘Marksies’ (gadz) everyone I know rightly calls it Markies.

It's 'Marksies' where I am! I have never, ever heard it called 'Markies'!!

CountryMouse22 · 28/03/2025 19:09

socialdilemmawhattodo · 28/03/2025 18:41

Not near me, and my town is super posh!! I love Aldi, much prefer it to LIDL, but am rather tired of being literally elbowed out of the way to get a pack of something when there are dozens more on the shelves.

I prefer Aldi to Lidl too except they have a very nice bakery dept. at Lidl.

Chumbawomble · 28/03/2025 19:11

I'm old enough to call it San Michel but antisocial enough to visit very late in the day :).

Cathandkin · 28/03/2025 19:15

DollopOfFun · 28/03/2025 17:36

M & Who?

They are dead to me since they discontinued the syrup sponge pudding last year, the one I that I had been buying since the 1990's. DEAD.

Thoughts and prayers 🙏
