Sell the story, if so to who?

I'm unsure about this but I'm on dating sites and as we all know it's full of parasites.

I was speaking to an elected councillor who I thought was decent, he sent me nudes, vulgar text etc. He swiftly deleted it but it's really wrong, I have screenshot etc. He was disgusting.

I'm not on about selling per se for money but we shouldn't have creeps like this representing us.

OP posts:

I also don't understand the posts telling me in awful etc. I'm okay but if I was a more vulnerable woman I would look up to this person and could possibly be 'groomed'. I'm an adult but God knows who he does this too and people tend to trust people in power.

Probably because your title is asking who you can sell your salacious story to

Just in case you've missed the numerous mentions: he has committed an offence.

you missed "if done with the intention of causing alarm, distress, or humiliation.".

LittleCharlotte · 19/03/2025 23:31

An unsolicited dick pic tends to have that effect. Try making out that you weren't sending it with that intention.

That's a big leap - from grubby nudes to sexual offences !

Sending unsolicited pictures of this nature is a crime. End of.

Unsolicited dick picks are a sexual offence. They also show extremely poor judgement on his part.

How do you know they are paid for by the council? We were never given phones (ex-councillor), just used our own. A couple of people had a second phone number for their council work, but they provided that themselves.

Because I worked for my local council and my husband was a Councillor. In my area all members were provided with council funded mobiles to use. We’ve both made incorrect assumptions based on personal experience.

MyrtleLion · 20/03/2025 12:33

I'm wondering if the OP has reported this to the police or to the CEO of the Council.

Onemorehamster · 20/03/2025 12:39

Sounds like you just want to make a bit of money OP- you’re I’m not coming across well. Move on and block.

Your behaviour is odd - seem to have to much time on your hands.

cardboardvillage · 23/03/2025 07:29

I would be horrified too. He’s a sleazeball

i would definitely tip off the local
paper: especially if electtions are taking place this year

BlackCountryWench2 · 23/03/2025 08:39

I just want to point out if no one else has already that if the council publishes the mobile numbers of its elected representatives (and many do), it will more than probably be a mobile phone paid for by the council to enable him to do council business and be contacted by the electorate, not his “personal” mobile. He should not be using a taxpayer-funded mobile phone for personal business, especially not internet dating and sending nudes. Everything on his mobile can be subject to an FOI request if it has been provided by the council. This is misuse of council property and also possibly misconduct in a public office. As others have said, report him to the monitoring officer at the council.

stayathomer · 23/03/2025 08:47

If you ‘out’ this person chances are it’s his family who’ll get the most crap from it. Hopefully he learned from the panic of having to delete his disgusting stuff. Tabloid smut is the lowest of the low

heroinechic · 23/03/2025 09:13

I can see I’m late to the party on this one but OP I’d you’re still hanging around report it to the monitoring officer at his Council.

They will have a social media policy which he has breached, and a code of conduct which he will also have breached. They have a duty to behave at all times, not just while carrying out their work related duties. Reporting in the press is not the proper route though in all likelihood the local democratic journo will be all over reporting on the suspension which will (hopefully) follow.

GlitteryRainbow · 23/03/2025 12:27

cupsandcupsoftea · 18/03/2025 20:17

He's not local.

Report him to the chair of his local council if in fact he is a councillor. Otherwise you can report him to his local party who would have nominated him and backed him as a councillor.

Which political party does he represent? Speak to the local party officials (look on the national websites for local contacts) and give them the lowdown. Hopefully that will stop him climbing the political ladder and ending up in Parliament....

I actually also wonder about going to the police. You should be able to go on a dating site without receiving unsolicited smut.

She already said she doesn't want money. I think she's being very responsible, trying to weed out these slimy creeps from public office.

Owl55 · 24/03/2025 09:29

Don’t think you’ll get much money for Lib Dem councilor tbh🤪
