Bit embarrassing … or am I being over sensitive?

OP posts:

Lol no!! But you are saying you know more (or different) to doctors, so I thought you might be to justify your reasoning. Maybe fitness coach? Professional personal trainer?? Nutritionist?

Which doctors have claimed that size 14 is a healthy weight?

Whether you are healthy or not isnt defined by a number in your clothes. I’m not sure your odd obsession with people who are size 14 is healthy either, however.

If you’re tall it’s a totally possible to wear size 14 clothes and be in a normal weight range, believe me.

Hmmmm not sure about that. Statistics will show that the more overweight you are, the rate of morbidity and disease rises . You can’t escape that fact.

Which I stated in previous comments.

The reality is if you look at the size dimensions of a person who is wearing size 14 clothes they score unhealthy in waist measurements and the average weight of that person falls firmly into overweight. Those are the facts. There will be isolated exceptions but I also stated that.

I don’t have an odd obsession. I made a statement and overly sensitive hypocrites are up in arms because it’s clearly fine to be overweight or large but how dare anyone suggest they are. The horror.

Surely if you're a size 22 it's not a secret you're big

Lovehascomeandgone · 16/03/2025 18:09

I wouldn’t be happy either OP, totally inappropriate

You really do have an odd obsession. Re- read your posts.

The average adult will have an unhealthy waist measurement so handwringing over this making them ‘large’ is weird.

😂😂😂😂

Yeah and clothes size is a good measure I’m sure, it’s why its recorded in medical records 🙄

Stressfordays · 16/03/2025 19:17

I'm a size 6-8 clothes and wear a size 14 coat because I like room to layer up underneath. I feel the cold so often wear 4-5 layers underneath in the winter 🤷 It's normal to size up in a coat.

Stressfordays · 16/03/2025 19:21

Oh and for the person commenting about a size 14 being overweight, I'm 5'8 so if I'm a size 14, my BMI is around 24/25. My BMI is currently 18 due to over active thyroid and I am quite unwell at a size 6-8 🤦

Meeatcheese · 16/03/2025 19:47

“Well, colleague, if we’re talking about size, let’s see how your dick looks on this deal.”

honestly…

BobbyBiscuits · 16/03/2025 19:52

In a sense she could've been saying she thought it would suit her mum and happened to be her size? Did she actually yell out 'oh, it's a size 22!'
That does seem unnecessary. You know what size clothes you wear.

I guess cut the labels out? And stick them on her clothes when she's in the bathroom. and just give her a quizzical look.

Everyone knows it's insulting to say you look like or dress like someone's mum even if your mum is Joanna Lumley

Spirallingdownwards · 15/03/2025 16:59

But you are saying this as though a size 14 is big? Which makes you sound just as judgy.

Not judgy but factual - 14 is is usually overweight depending on the height. I’m 170cm and when I was size 12 so 74kg I was just on the overweight border.

HughGrantsfurrysquirrel · 16/03/2025 20:01

Only got as far as page 2 of the responses, so guessing a few others have written something to this effect!! My curiousity was sparked, so I just HAD to Google "unusually large pelvis." 'Tis indeed a thing. The correct medical term being: "Pelvis Justo Major!" I've learnt something new today. Yeay!! X

pollymere · 16/03/2025 20:05

This isn't an implication it's about size. More that you're the same size as their Mum. Maybe they thought their Mum was vastly bigger than you? Who knows?

I think you're being oversensitive.

Dawnb19 · 16/03/2025 20:16

I think your being a bit oversensitive. You can see someone's size by looking at them. I'm a size 12-14 not but I'm still wearing last year's size 16-18 maternity coat as it comfortable and warm. Even when I was a size 10 I wore a size 12-14 tops as my boobs are big.

Well evidently this colleague couldn't see by looking, as clearly she felt the need to announce op's coat size to the whole office...🤔

The average adult is overweight. The average adult is large. Literally. Are you suggesting because the average adult is large they are now small? Don’t be ridiculous.
