Er.., try again… not really unless you’ve cleared 6 foot. A disclaimer that height doesn’t indeed impact, but in the case of a size 14 unless you’ve cleared 6 foot you’re still likely overweight. That does not say height is irrelevant. Quite the opposite.

Managers are there to manage and would deal with a situation like this (that is exactly what a manager is paid for). If the manager is not sure of the process of dealing with a situation like this, then they ask HR for advice and guidance. HR are not there to ‘manage’ people - that’s what managers do.

Look it up. The dimensions of a size 14 are consistent with the two key measures for being overweight. Waist size and bmi. There will be an exception for very tall women but that’s not the norm so it’s tedious factor to bring into it. It’s like saying size 4 isn’t thin because some women are 4’10.
