She is not coming across well.

Poor man?

He was as big a grifter as the rest of his family.

Yeah I think this ... just that the daughter is taking all the backlash , he would of said look after yourselves with that money so he wasn't a poor man used .

That's really a bit of a stretch that poor Hannah is taking the backlash, she's hardly an innocent, although her husband is probably just as bad.

TBF, I remember at the time that several Mumsnetters did call the scam out and were shouted down!

The CT worshippers on there are the same ones who won't allow discussion on Zelensky/Ukraine minerals/missing £ millions etc. You'd think that people would learn to question what we are being fed.
On the other threads, the elderly Scottish woman, who was the first to start this sort of thing, is talked about. CT getting as big as is did, was careful, clever marketing. Of course he was in on it being a good earner for his family.

crumblingschools · 09/03/2025 14:29

@Ponoka7 but the facts have to be correct. The money raised for walking round the garden wasn’t a scam. That money did go to NHS Charities. So if people were calling scam right at the beginning, they were wrong. Yes his family were great at marketing, but that money did go to the right place

I'm sure I read that her husband was plain old Colin Ingram and then when the old boy started to gain popularity he added the Moore onto his surname too. That screams grifter to me.

Oh no that's desperate!

Colds and tummy bugs don't kill people.

Yes they do. They kill thousands of people every year. Same as covid viruses did prior to 2019.

Why are you derailing this thread 🙄

Colds and tummy bugs don't kill people.

But they can do. Old people in care homes, or with Alzheimer's for example. A cold might be the thing that finishes them off. This is something that lots of people never seemed to understand. My dad had Alzheimer's, was in a home, caught a cold which turned to pneumonia, and then he died. Fortunately this was just before Covid, so we were able to be with him as he died, unlike so many others just a little while later. It never crossed my mind who the SELFISH KILLER who gave him the cold might be. I just knew Dad was old, and ill and it was his time.

TizerorFizz · 10/03/2025 20:05

@MrsSlocombesCat The very elderly can die from a virus. A cold. Tummy bugs dehydrate and can be very dangerous. Nothing is easy when you are 100. Going on a cruise was probably a disaster for CT. Just unnecessary.

How many war veterans just happen to take their medals on holiday with them to Barbados and just happen to wear them too. Also I would never advocate for violence...but how bloody smug do Hannah and Mr Hannah look!

What do you mean by Ukraine and the missing millions? Maybe you are drunk on Trump’s cool aid

Unfortunately I can, yes. And the looks of absolute smug as fuck pride on their faces even the kids is 🤢.

OrdinaryO888 · 11/03/2025 10:17

Not the Dcs’ fault; they have been led astray, but very unwise to take up the offer of a free trip to Barbados when your dad is 100 years old. Especially in December 2020 when you couldn’t be vaccinated on medical grounds. It was on his bucket list apparently though.

And before it went wrong they did raise £38.9 million which all went to the NHS according to the BBC, so the outcome could have been so much better, but I guess greed got the better of them. A total own goal!

AnAlpacaForChristmasPleaseSanta · 11/03/2025 11:13

Also interesting how this holiday to Barbados, which had apparently always been on Tom's bucket list didn't include taking his other daughter or grandchildren. Only the Smuggy McSmugface crew 🤔.

I can't comment on the children it certainly isn't their fault they were also paraded like trophies.

True but I think they were both well into their teens then and capable of saying no. My mum would certainly have been told to get stuffed if she'd constantly tried to get me to grin for the assembled press at that age. But then she was never left in much doubt what a massive favour I was doing her by being seen in public with her at all 😳.
