Is currently getting her arse handed to her by Judge Rinder on Good Morning Britain...

She is not coming across well.

I quite fancy a change of face, like Nicholas Cage in the film Face Off.

I'm hoping Cameron Diaz is up for a swap with my face 😂

I'm a bit old for her but maybe Helen Mirren or, at a pinch, Francesca Annis. I've always wanted to vanish and then reinvent myself, must do before it's too late.

AnAlpacaForChristmasPleaseSanta · 08/03/2025 18:51

@Boredlass Ditto for me too! I found it quite galling to see her in the Royal box at Wimbledon taking all the applause.

Yes this irritated the life out of me, especially because all the other people in the royal box was sports men and women who'd actually accomplished things. Mind you even the man next to her is looking like WTAF at the blowing kisses 😂.

I was very comfortable watching the interview. She was just being asked to account for her disgraceful actions! The only reason she was there was to promote another book. The programme needed to make clear to viewers where the royalties would be going if they buy a copy. The audacity of her doing the rounds of TV/Radio studios promoting this is stunning after what has been clearly revealed about her. She has no shame.

The breath taking arrogance of this woman never ceases to amaze me.
She is an insult to her father's memory.

Oh, you see, we did the normal human thing of trying not to spread a disease to others that might kill them ☺️

Presumably then, every time any of your family pick up a cold or a tummy bug you stay in total isolation until the entire family has been clear of any symptoms for 72 hours! 🙄

Mightymoog · 07/03/2025 08:56

I was pissing myself when people were going along with that family of grifters.
People lost their minds in covid.

Quite! And he wasn’t an innocent party either in my opinion. Just because someone is old and frail doesn’t make them a wily old bird, his apple didn’t fall far from his tree.

StrikeAlways · 08/03/2025 20:02

Boredlass · 08/03/2025 17:37

She’s a terrible person. I remember saying that I didn’t trust her at the time and I got crucified.

That was tantamount to saying the level of national ‘grief’ when Diana died was OTT and hysterical.

Why yes, of course I treat common viruses that have been around for years or are easily vaccinated in exactly the same way as I treated the COVID pandemic that resulted in a lockdown, a series of emergency laws and a massively overstretched national health service.

LBFseBrom · 08/03/2025 20:08

This thread is really illuminating.

yeah right. Course you do

anon666 · 08/03/2025 20:29

Next thing she'll reappear on Trump's team like the grifter she really is.

Picoloangel · 08/03/2025 20:53

Hmm that house. It’s missing something. If only it had, I dunno, a spa block.

SunnyPlumOrca · 08/03/2025 20:58

Rob Rinder must be the best interviewer on tv. He really tore into that awful woman and should now be employed to interview the politicians

Yes she's a wrong un, I read somewhere she is related to the fella who tried to fiddle who's wants to be a millionaire, I don't know why she keeps giving interviews, just go away and count your money.

The breath taking arrogance of this woman never ceases to amaze me.
She is an insult to her father's memory.

"Captain Tom" was her carefully crafted persona. Without her clever marketing skills, we would never have heard of him and we have no idea what the man was actually like - although poster have made reference to unpleasant misogynistic comments in his book.

I mean it was such a clever grift and grabbed hold of the nation so much, I'm surprised by her complete misstep now.

OrdinaryO888 · 09/03/2025 08:57

I had an idle look around some press stories about this as I had forgotten the details and it appears that the company her husband had worked at was in financial difficulty and he has since resigned. So I think that probably lay at the heart of the issue.

Since then they have lost all the money on the spa building which I recall was about 180k to construct and about 40k to deconstruct and take away.

And they have been defending the case against the Charity Commission which must have cost a tidy sum in lawyer’s fees.

Oh I read that ",somewhere" ! although it would be her husbands side, not that he is any better.

She is apparently writing her autobiography, so it is in her interests to stay in the public eye, no matter how awkward it might be. Good marketing.

The woman is all about the money.

Let's hope the book isn't purchased.

I can't remember who asked, but it was on Page 1 of the thread - but yes, her house is still for sale:

Flipping heck it must cost a bit to keep that gaff heated.

I was shocked about 10 days into the while whole captain Tom bit that he wasn't local to me as the BBC West were putting him up as number one item on the local news every bloody night. It's only later I thought it strange he was continually in a suit and medals. Someone knew which.buttons to press for the media.

But it's the lie and I say lie given what the publishers said about his book. He and the family said that the money would go to the nhs. And they kept it. There was no reason why, if they were telling the truth, the publishers wouldn't have said yes it was Toms money.

Plus building a spa on your own land, claiming it was offices for a charity is pretty dreadful too.

Her defence (as the BBC have clearly stated) is that the charity commission hasn't passed anything on to the police. Personally I have no faith in the charity commission as it seems that as long as you abide by their accounting rules there is no scrutiny of your actions. Two local to me examples. A large ex orphanage come 19th century borstal near me was sold for development. The charity where the money went is meant to be accessible for youth projects...there's millions sat there still. Another charity seems to support it's organisers in doing exciting/different things like walks up Ben Nevis, long distance walks. One year they raised £30k and spent £28k raising it...there is very very little on the website, socials about the activities the charity is supposed to support...just fund raising.

I know of an East End homeless charity where the money went to soup and bread for the homeless, and a luxury flat and two brand new cars for the people that run it.
