I don't mind my cat sleeping on my bed at all, but sometimes in the night she'll jump on my stomach and wake me up, or will lick my face to check I'm still alive!
This morning I evicted her at around 4am because she'd jumped on my stomach or back at least 4 times! As I say I'm happy for her to sleep there but I can't have the disturbed sleep long-term. Anyone else?

Long haired female dashhound sleeps under my arm like a teddy til we both get warm then she goes to end of the bed. She's currently under my arm.now watching tv lol

Theeternalrocksbeneath · 01/03/2025 22:34

I have far too many dogs 😄

I lost the battle many years ago, and now the entitled little fuckers sleep wherever the hell they like, which is usually my bed.

Sorry, their bed.

They graciously allow me to sleep in a square inch of mattress and I wouldn’t have it any other way!

Tanfastic · 01/03/2025 22:35

Sometimes and I do love the cuddles but not every night because he disturbs my sleep too much, so it's an occasional treat.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 01/03/2025 22:37

My ddog sleeps in ds11 room then when she's sniffs movement in our room she goes out for a pee then has snuggles with mum and dad

JaceLancs · 01/03/2025 22:39

Dcat is not allowed upstairs
35+ years ago I had 6 cats n there was not enough room in bed for them and DP at that time and me
When I moved house it was to a property where it was easier to split off the upper and ground floors
Since then I’ve never shared my bed with cat or cats

2025willbemytime · 01/03/2025 22:39

I currently have my dog and one of the cats on the bed. Last night I had my dog and two cats. My dog will probably stay all night with me. Cat number one often does. Cat number two comes for a snuggle but if I dare to move she goes elsewhere .

Mum2jenny · 01/03/2025 22:39

My ddog sleeps in our bed, or on it, depending on how she feels. As she’s not a big dog, it’s fine by me.

kungfoofighting · 01/03/2025 22:40

Ours sleeps in the bed! He does sometimes do circuits burrowing under the covers then emerging again for air when it gets hot

Newname71 · 01/03/2025 22:41

Yep! The cat and the dog both sleep in our bed. The cats a pain in the arse…. Smacks me in the face with a paw when he wants a fuss. The dogs a 3 and a half stone staffy that hogs the bed. I woke up one morning and thought I’d lost the use of my legs! Then realised the fat git was lying across my feet and ankles. 😂

Purplecatshopaholic · 01/03/2025 22:42

I generally have one or two of my dogs on the bed (one between us, one at my feet) and one of my cats (on my pillow curled round my head). Despite nightly fights for space, enough duvet, and sleep despite a cacophony of snoring, I wouldn’t have it any other way.

sparklynugget · 01/03/2025 22:42

One cat sleeps next to partner, the other occasionally sleeps on my head. I quite like it, the purring sends me back to sleep. We started off shutting them out of the bedroom when we first got them but they then decided to scratch the door down about 3.30am every night so leaving it ajar is easier. Love how cats always win! We are open plan so no doors to shut them downstairs sadly!

cinnamongirl123 · 01/03/2025 22:47

Cat. Sleeps on my tummy or chest all night. I have to lie still like a log all night! Sometimes she sleeps like a scarf around my neck. I know that most people wouldn't like this, but I do

AltitudeCheck · 01/03/2025 22:54

Two cats, one is always curled behind someone's knees, usually DPs but occasionally me. Doesn't move all night, snores gently in a very cute way.

Other cat is usually under the covers, head on the pillow trying to suffocate snuggled up with me. He's an absolute dick and will come back in from outside with muddy (or worse) feet, the occasional small slug stuck to him, grass seed in his fur or smelling of fuel because he's been underneath cars in the carpark and proceed to leave all manor of nastiness behind, it's not uncommon to wake up in a gritty bed! Oh and he wakes us up for food, usually 3-4am and again at daybreak by pawing or licking faces, jumping on us and scratching furniture. At least half those times there is already food in his bowl we just have to walk downstairs with him and point at it.

We have been well and truly enslaved by our feline overlords!!

treesandsun · 01/03/2025 22:59

A dog and a cat. The dog takes up loads of room but is otherwise no bother. The cat likes to be no more than an inch away from me at all times and likes to have the longest most vigorous washes and walk around my head.

We have a small dog who has slept on our bed since her big brother passed away. She's no trouble and doesn't wriggle much at all. In fact, her favourite place of all is right under the covers, she likes to curl up behind someone's knees.

Mumsworkneverdone · 01/03/2025 23:08

Can't sleep without my cats on the bed. One shares often pillow and rhe other normally sleeps on my chest or between my legs!

2 cats, they not only sleep on the bed but in winter often I'll wake up and they've both burrowed under the duvet so I'm wedged between two fur lumps.

JoanOgden · 01/03/2025 23:08

Yes, I'm typing this in bed with my cat on my head. She generally moves down to the end of the bed and sleeps peacefully until 6ish when she jumps on my head for breakfast. Occasionally she stays downstairs, which makes me feel very rejected

Slavetomycat · 01/03/2025 23:15

Of course we sleep in The Cat's bed, much to her chagrin. She sits on DH's chest until it's time to settle in, then rushes to sit at the far corner, facing away from us - as if disgusted. The moment the lights go out she stealthily walks along the very bottom and up my side, to settle on her own feather pillow at my back. If I have to get up to pee I slide said pillow carefully down as far as my arms can reach, then climb carefully out of the bed. It has been known that I've had to wake DH to let me in his side, so that I don't disturb her majesty.

I love the weight (7.5 lbs) of her by my side, until she bats or nips at me for being annoying. Bloody cat.

FrothyCothy · 01/03/2025 23:17

In it, head first under the covers. Then when she realises she can’t breathe she climbs out the bottom and starts all over again from the top.

Baital · 01/03/2025 23:22

DDog is convinced that when it starts getting dark.it is time for tea and then bed. Which means about 3pm in winter. She will usually happily put herself to bed, but occasionally won't settle without me - then I have to stand firm against going to bed at about 4/5pm because she wants my company.

Going to bed means under the duvet. When I first got her (a rescue, 6ish months old) that meant curling up tightly and not being disturbed. If I fidgeted too much she would remove herself to the spare bedroom or her cushion underneath my bed.

The den underneath my bed is where she keeps her toys.

A few years in and she is relaxed enough to spread out and ignore me. Often she actively snuggles against me.

She is the easiest, most loving dog. Such a comfort and brings so much happiness. Also so much dog hair, but that's more than worth it to clean up!

Scutterbug · 01/03/2025 23:46

Yep! Dog sleeps on the bed. Cat sometimes comes up but will only sleep on my back (I sleep on my front).

I'm fairly sure my cat sees it as me sleeping on his bed....

Millyjanice · 02/03/2025 00:09

One of our 3 cats has decided I’m the person she sleeps with.
She starts by kneading her fluffy blanket next to my pillow. Then she curls up tight while still purring and eventually we drift off. In the morning she taps my face with her paw to wake me so I can let her get under the duvet for her morning cuddle.
