I don't mind my cat sleeping on my bed at all, but sometimes in the night she'll jump on my stomach and wake me up, or will lick my face to check I'm still alive!
This morning I evicted her at around 4am because she'd jumped on my stomach or back at least 4 times! As I say I'm happy for her to sleep there but I can't have the disturbed sleep long-term. Anyone else?

I lock my cat out. She likes to walk up the length of my body and jump off repeatedly. Manages to find all the pressure points.

I read once that cats are alarmed when we're suddenly unconscious for a large chunk of hours because their sleep patterns aren't like that. So they like to check we're still alive or something.

My 18 year old cat sleeps with me. I have to lift her on and gravity helps her off. She snuggles into my back and I’ll really miss her when she won’t be there..

Our cats used to sleep on our bed, but then we got a cat flap and I had the fear that the youngest would drop a dead rat on me in the middle of the night so now they are banned from the bedroom. My old lady is 19 and occasionally pees in her sleep now so that's another reason for the ban.

Cats are allowed on our bed in the daytime and one likes to spend most of the day there.
At night they are shut in downstairs as we like our kip!

Both my dogs sleep with me. When I look after my daughter’s dogs they do too. Fortunately I’ve a very large bed. They never disturb me and I love having them to cuddle up

My cat goes outside at night. He’s long haired - built for the cold and loves to hunt / explore. He comes in all covered in leaves and sticks in the morning. God knows what he gets up to. He sleeps all day on the beds at home but no way I’d let him stay in at night. My sleep is precious.

My dog sleeps in my bed and I love it. He's as warm as toast and when he does a big, deep sigh that means he's off to sleep it makes my heart happy 💛

Can't stand anyone in bed with me not even husband never mind a pet

My cat can go anywhere in the daytime and often sleeps on our kingsize bed. Night time, she has the dining room and kitchen. Her bed is in the chimney breast alcove in the dining room.

If I'm ever ill and choose to lay in bed in the daytime, she'll curl up at the bottom on DH's size. He'd be at work then lol.

Cat sleeps in the laundry room. Not allowed upstairs. Animals in a bed is disgusting.

My cat used to sleep on our bed but then she started to like sleeping right on my head, sometimes on my face, which wasn't very conducive to breathing, and at least once I woke up to her foot in my mouth so then I started shutting her out. Then she tried to sleep in DS's room but he was a baby so I wasn't going to let her do that, kept having to fetch her out after bedtime because she would hide in his room. Finally she settled on sleeping on DD's bed, who was very happy with that.
She's gone now and I'd give anything to have her sleep on my bed one more time, even if it's on my head.

My dog sleeps in his crate, or on the sofa in the kitchen. I value my sleep too much to have him in my room, and he does like to bark at every little noise. He goes in his crate quite happily and most days is still in there when I go and get him up in the morning.

PoshHorseyBird · 03/03/2025 17:21

No. There are two adults in the bed so there is absolutely no room for a German Shepherd as well! 🤣
He can sleep on the sofas and he has a lovely orthopedic bed of his own so he's not too hard done by 🙂

Rottweilermummy · 06/03/2025 23:09

Yes ours sleeps with us, great when she waa a puppy, not so much now she's a full grown rottie, but bought a bigger bed to accommodate lol. Wouldn't change it for the world although would prefer no dog hair

Yourcatisnotsorry · 08/03/2025 10:42

Cats sleep wherever they want here. One would never dream of getting in our bed. One has been in bed since day 1 and likes to get under the duvet if it’s cold. One sleeps on the spare bed in the daytime, sleeps either on a specific corner on our bed or in the mound of teddies in the kids beds.

I wouldn’t like a dog in bed though they can get quite filthy.
