Brand new DMs not selling on Vinted

I put my brand new Doc Martens (pink desert boots) - never been worn, still in the box on vinted and fb marketplace and they’re not selling. They are the wrong size for me and too late to return.
Where else could I try listing them?
I’ve put them on for £85. They are currently sold out on the DM site.

Sold my bnwt on vinted for 90 🤷‍♀️

You are unfortunately going to have to see your lost cost in the reduced sale price as the tax you pay for failing to return on time.

have you asked the shop if you could swap them?

They were brand new and bought for £90.

How much should I list them for?
I’ve added a photo of them.

You need to bear in mind that buyer pays for delivery. So probably £90+ and in that case someone might as well go buy them brand new from a shop, where they know they won’t get scammed (that’s my theory when I buy off vinted)

Wobblemonster · 01/03/2025 10:46

Just return them to the shop if you ordered online. I’ve sent returns back late before and have never had any query raised by the retailer.

I’m going to say this again because you didn’t respond earlier, OP, and I’m not sure if you saw it - try taking them to a DM store if you can get to one. They are usually really helpful and may refund you even past the online return deadline. Depends if they think they can resell them I guess, and since they are still in stock…

It's worth a try for store credit even if no refund.
On Vinted £35-45 max. They are a bit niche and most people are looking for standard stuff on Vinted or ABSOLUTE bargains. I never pay the listed price. With the risk involved it's not worth paying over £20 for anything.

You need to be patient. I think this is a colour /style which wouldn’t appeal to everyone. For example, I like the look of pink DM’s but would never buy them (despite having numerous DMs) because I’d feel self conscious wearing them. Keep them on Vinted and just wait for the right buyer to come along.

I don’t think your price is unreasonable and see may boots sold for higher prices via a more specialist selling group.
gold luck and ignore the negative comments.

Scampilicous · 01/03/2025 12:23

Try Depop- better for designer stuff

Scottsy200 · 01/03/2025 14:22

Dont forget people will have to pay postage so if they can go in a shop and buy them for £84 I’m afraid they won’t sell for £85 on Vinted, I’d try listing them at £60 but maybe accept £55 if offered. People do indeed buy expensive items in Vinted I have sold a cost for £100 before, but just depends on the item

TiredMummma · 03/03/2025 14:42

Ok with fees they are more than buying new. Doc martens that are sold out come back in stock - I think £60 (which is about £70 for the buyer) and it would be the same as buying them with a discount voucher.

This is genuinely not possible as people can only offer a maximum of 40% lower than the listed price

She messaged me to offer me the ridiculously low price. It happens a lot.
