Tattoos aren't that shocking I agree as I have them myself as do lots of others, it's more the nose and eyes, looks scary. I really was shocked at her before picture it was only 2019

Body modifications are far more common now.

She had body mods in the first picture too - lip fillers, probably tanning bed, straightened and dyed hair, lashes. Just you think that looked "pretty"

Why do any of us choose anything that changes how we look? Usually because we like the look of it. I have piercings because I like them. I had them done for me. They make me feel good when I look in the mirror.

As what she has done is permanent, then I guess she likes how she looks. It doesn't need to be any more than that, it can be reason enough.

I have questions:

Does she remove bogies so people cant see or leave them on view?

If she runs do flies go in there? It looks a bit unavoidable and I’ve dealt with a fly up the nose when running.

Is her sense of smell better or worse?

I do disagree with the immediate jump to mentally ill though. It's a bit of a patronising thing and extreme body mods are part of a culture and lifestyle. You can't get these things done in the UK since a big case a few years ago when a chap was sent to prison because he didn't have the correct licenses ie in surgical procedures.

Anyone with capacity has the right to make unwise decisions, even to harm themselves, otherwise there would be no addicts or alcoholics. Unwise decisions are subjective to cultural norms and fashions.

Removal of her nose leaving 2 'front facing holes' and fillers don't even come close.

Fillers can be dissolved and/or wear off. Her nose isn't going to grow back. The surgeon should be struck off for mutilating her face.

I don't really think there's much difference to getting a nose removed as there is cutting off a penis or breasts. It's about the look which for whatever reason someone prefers.

Her body, her choice. It's affecting no one but herself, it's only cosmetic, and she can live her life how she chooses. It clearly works for her. I don't care what she looked like previously tbh. If she'd been ugly beforehand, would her body modifications be less offensive?

Maybe she got fed up of the assumptions made about her when she was a "pretty blonde". Maybe this is her way of sticking two fingers up to misogyny.

I'm sorry to say it, even if it is her body, her choice, it's absolutely hideous. It's to be hoped she's still going to love it in another 30 years.
