If you say so. Having been the partner of a body piercer of 30 years standing, for 11 years, who was extremely well educated on all aspects historical and anthropological, I think I'm a tiny bit more qualified on the subject.

Just sounds like you're projecting to me. Just because you're the partner of a body piercer (allegedly,) that doesn't make you the all knowing oracle. What an arrogant viewpoint!

And as I predicted, you have no answer to my point about most people in the Western world/Europe not doing this to themselves when you mentioned how insulting it was to tribesfolk who do this to themselves. Because you HAVE no answer.

Yes, a few people do this weird body mod stuff to themselves, (in the western world,) but they are few and far between. It's not normal, most people don't do it, and VERY few people will do what this girl has done. So stop pretending what she has done to herself is fine.

HolyPeaches · 24/02/2025 21:57

Reminds me of Rick Genest, who sadly took his own life in his early 30’s.

I agree with a PP, it’s a type of self harm. People that modify their bodies to this extreme and label it as “unique” are most likely deeply unhappy people.

Pancakeflipper · 24/02/2025 21:58

So what next? I think doing this to your body is like an addiction - her face is pretty much covered, so what next on her body?

mommyfinger · 24/02/2025 21:58

@MistressoftheDarkSide I think you're actually her and your username fits 😁

I think you have hit the nail on the head there! 😂 That poster is weirdly defensive of this girl and all the nasty shit she has done to herself!

OrlandointheWilderness · 24/02/2025 21:59

Doesn't bother me at all - tbh I really cannot stand the filler Barbie look and at least it's different! The nose is baffling (must be a pain when she has a cold 😂) but each to their own.

AnxiouslyAwaitingSpring · 24/02/2025 21:59

Poor girl. Imagine what she's going to look like if she lives to be elderly.

She won't even live to be middle aged the way she is going.

Rick Genest did not take his own life btw. It was ruled as accidental.

MistressoftheDarkSide · 24/02/2025 22:05

Ha. I'm not her, my nose ring is my only current piercing and I have one small tattoo.

But my interest is more in why people get so invested in other people's choices when they affect no-one but themselves. Why do people get so offended, and demand controls ?

I'm accused of projecting and arrogance, well, pot, kettle, black.

I said in my first post that I found the nose mod extreme. However, it's her choice, and doesn't impact my life one jot. Good luck to her.

Only read the first page of posts, so apologies if anyone’s already said this…

It reminds me of the Black Alien Project on Instagram. Some people are just into extreme body modification.

So long as they are consenting adults I don’t see the problem.

It isn’t for everyone that’s for sure, but we don’t all have to be the same. As long as she’s happy, fair enough.

Lambington · 24/02/2025 22:06

No different to circumcision / face fillers / nose jobs / ear pinning. Not everyone wants to conform to "normal" (whatever that is).

ForeverDelayedEpiphany · 24/02/2025 22:08

Perhaps you could ask if it's really much different to someone like Michael Jackson and his extreme surgery over the years? Clearly mental health problems, body image issues or dysmorphia, alongside poor self esteem perhaps.

But then maybe we're all being far too amateur armchair psychologist about it, and she really doesn't have any problems with how she looks. I mean, clearly the nose is extreme, bit much for most people; but I've seen one guy who is even more extreme, with a split tongue. His head has been modified to make him a lizard. That is a bit much.

So what next? I think doing this to your body is like an addiction - her face is pretty much covered, so what next on her body?

If you click on the link you can see her body too. Her upper body is literally just painted black with tattoos all over the rest. Very strange.

I wonder what it's like going through life having people being scared of your appearance and babies crying etc when you walk past! Imagine encountering her on a dark night 😱

I do agree it's a mental illness for someone to be so desperate for attention or have such bad body dysmorphia that they resort to this. No one in their right mind would do this to themselves and yes I do also believe that about people with full body/facial tattoos. The people I know who have lots of tattoos tend to be either not very intelligent/low socio economic standing or be narcs who live for the attention of others and want to appear edgy or cool but instead just look like yet another sheep following an awful trend.

Fillers/plastic surgery looks awful too and I don't believe it's something that healthy minded people do.

PandoraSox · 24/02/2025 22:09

I have seen @mistressofthedarkside around on MN for several years.

I found Toxii on Threads. There is a little snippet of an interview with her and she seems quite sweet. She said that having the tip of her nose removed was very painful.

Midnightlove · 24/02/2025 22:11

Nice change from the same massive eyebrowed duck lip brigade 🤷‍♀️

rainache · 24/02/2025 22:14

@mommyfinger

No harm done to you with the way she looks, her body, her choice. Spiteful to start a post solely based on someone's appearance.

bertiebump · 24/02/2025 22:17

pinkyredrose · 24/02/2025 21:51

Why the question marks? Would've thought my message was clear.

Oh I do get to have the last word

Onlyonekenobe · 24/02/2025 22:18

I'm no expert, but I would hazard a guess that maybe she doesn't want to look anything like her previous "pretty" (far from it in my eyes, but to each their own) self any more. Again, I'm no expert, but I can think of a few reasons why someone would want to do that. None of them are to do with looking "pretty".

Or, simply, she likes the look because it aligns with her interests or hobbies or beliefs.

StMarie4me · 24/02/2025 22:18

JustTalkToThem · 24/02/2025 20:45

She had body mods in the first picture too - lip fillers, probably tanning bed, straightened and dyed hair, lashes. Just you think that looked "pretty"

Spot on.

StMarie4me · 24/02/2025 22:19

alwaysdeleteyourcookies · 24/02/2025 20:51

Just because someone chooses to do something you wouldn't contemplate, it doesn't necessarily make them mentally ill

This take needs to be normalised.

For sure!

PandoraSox · 24/02/2025 22:19

I don't agree at all. I am quite old, no tats or even piercings apart from ears. For reasons I won't explain here me and my DH recently ended up in a place full of younger people with loads of tattoos and piercings etc. They were actually some of the kindest people I have met in a long time and very much not lacking in intelligence.

Delphiniumandlupins · 24/02/2025 22:19

I am worried about how she will cope with a cold!

StMarie4me · 24/02/2025 22:20

MoonWoman69 · 24/02/2025 21:05

I'm sorry to say it, even if it is her body, her choice, it's absolutely hideous. It's to be hoped she's still going to love it in another 30 years.
And morals aside, anyone offered the money will do the work. Whether that's right or wrong, like everything, it all boils down to money.

You think it's hideous. She doesn't.

livelovelough24 · 24/02/2025 22:20

This is just very sad. It shows, in a very shocking way, what kind of daemons a lot of us carry inside, but only some of us dare to display openly.😔
