so let’s see how other things progress and stop moaning.
it is good progress.

You clearly have no understanding whatsoever of the issue. It has nothing to do with 'training more doctors'.

Well, there’s a general consensus we don’t train enough and rely on overseas doctors to help so I’m guessing it’s part of it.

Waiting lists are down. NHS capacity can’t be increased overnight. Do you want to allow lists to increase for the 7 years it takes to train more doctors or use the ones we already have?

We could employ the unemployed ones that we already have tomorrow.

It is positive news - probably the first since Labour were elected, but I wouldn't describe it as fantastic. There is a heck of long way to go.

Waiting lists (for consultant led elective procedures):
DEC 24 - 7.46m
JUL 24 - 7.62m
FEB 23 - 7.22m (before the start of industrial action)
FEB 20 - 4.57m (before Covid)
JUN 10 - 2.64m (start of coalition government)

So waiting lists have fallen by 32,000/month since the election. At this rate it will take until August 25 for waiting lists to fall below the pre-strike level, about 7.5 years to reach pre-covid levels, and over 12 years to reach 2010 levels.
