I'm in Kent and it's been shite, freezing, grey, damp. Absolutely fed up of being cold allllll day long. I'm with you OP.
We had a few crisp, blue sky days early Jan..I loved that. Roll on spring.

culturevulture1984 · 13/02/2025 19:03

The tail end of Winter and it's tough.
My house is freezing, bed the only warm place.

It’s been blue skies for ages in the north west

No it hasn't. Don't make things up. The odd sunny day but is brass monkeys and grey for over a week now.

Oh how I long for apricity. So miserable right now @Sadsister232

PassingStranger · 13/02/2025 21:53

It’s not even like that in the north east in the middle of summer @Mirrorxxx

dottiedodah · 14/02/2025 06:55

As long as its dry!we are SC so patches of brightness here an d there.hopefully spring nor too far away now

FastFood · 14/02/2025 07:13

I'm in London and these last two weeks have been brutal.
On the bright side, it's been good to stay at home with a cup of tea, a jigsaw and some true crime podcasts.

Spottyshirt · 14/02/2025 10:56

Absolutely gorgeous sun and blue sky in Kent today

Yep. And forecast to be so for 8 out of the next 13 days.

Nice in London today too and several nice days forecast on the 10 day forecast but I'm not getting my hopes up too much, as they are not always accurate. A week ago, this coming Sunday, where I live it was predicted to be sunny and 7°, now it's supposed to be 4° and dull!

crimsonlake · 14/02/2025 11:51

I am in the North West and no sun here for ages, sorry I am mistaken we actually had a bit of sun for 10 mins this morning!

Serpentstooth · 14/02/2025 13:29

I've just bought 5 bunches of daffodils (£1 each from marks) and am going to get some joy by watching them flower brightly over the next few days. Not quite as good as sunshine but close.

Are they the little ones or the big ones? I love how the little ones hang on to their scent so well. It's such a springtime smell!

Spottyshirt · 14/02/2025 13:45

I’m actually struggling to see my screen because the sun is literally pouring in to my dining room. It’s a cloudless blue sky. Perfection

placemats · 14/02/2025 14:14

The sun has shone for three hours today, back to cloud cover now and rain later. I managed to get some washing dried on the line, brisk breeze as well. Yay!

I too love the smell of daffodils.

Chipsahoy · 14/02/2025 14:32

NE Scotland here and we’ve had lots of sunshine. Even had a cup of tea outside two days last week. Maybe Scotland stole
the sunshine?!

Spectre8 · 14/02/2025 14:35

90% of my holidays are now taken between November and March to break up the monotonous grey weather. I was in Spai last week, it was so lovely, t shirt weather at 18 degrees, being in the sun felt even warmer. Clear blue skies.

Theb came back to grey. Lucky today her in se London it's sunshine and blue skies so a brief respite

Grey and relentless and muddy underfoot
dog needs a foot and leg wash after every walk.

Give it back!

LadyKenya · 14/02/2025 15:09

Nice, and sunny today, and the difference in how I feel, is noticeable. I cannot wait for the warmer weather, so sick of the cold, and greyness that is the norm at the moment.

wherearemypastnames · 14/02/2025 15:11

We had sunshine today - but it looks back to normal soon

We were surprised how high the sun now seems at midday

Serpentstooth · 14/02/2025 15:31

Big daffs Poobah, sacrificing fragrance for colour.

DoraSpenlow · 14/02/2025 15:38

West Country here. I am so sick of this grey weather. I feel crap. No inclination to do anything. Seems like nothing has dried up outside for weeks. Patio turning green, garden a squelching quagmire, fencing rotting and getting fungus growing on it. Every car that goes past when I am washing up is grey. What a god-awful colour I don't get why it is so popular. We have lived in this house for over 40 years and for the first time ever we are getting black mould in the corners of rooms, even though we are keeping the heating on low in the rooms we don't use all the time and have kept them well ventilated. Shouldn't wish my life away but I long for May/June to come.

We are retired so in theory we could go off somewhere sunnier but unfortunately our travel insurance has expired and we can't realistically renew until after my hospital appointment which isn't until the end of April. So we are stuck here.
