Do you get your children anything for Valentines day

Or do any activities with them?

I’m seeing it more and more as a thing for kids to be involved in, as in crafts or getting heart cupcakes..do you do things like that?

They had pink hot cross buns for breakfast and I got them some heart jammy dodgers.

They did valentines crafts at pre school and playgroup.

I don't get them cards though.

Husband and I usually do card/flowers/chocolate these days and maybe he'll cook either this eve or breakfast tomorrow, rather than something elaborate like when we were young and child free.

What? No! I have sex with my husband, followed by steak and fizz (that he organises)! 😉

Today's little darlings feel left out and apparently they can be triggered if left out of such occasions 🤣🤣

There have been numerous posts on here already from people of all ages remembering parents giving them small tokens on Valentine's Day. This is really not the generational war that people are trying to angle for.

Never got a card from my parents when young.
Why would I ?

They didn't want to trigger you 😘

There are a lot of people lacking love on this thread! The joy on my boy's faces tomorrow when they open their little valentine's gifts is the only confirmation I need that I'm doing the right thing celebrating Valentine's with them as a family. 💌

You think by not buying my children gifts on St Valentines day shows i don't love them ? How bloody strange.

Did I say that @ERthree ?! I was trying to counter all the negative Nancy's who were saying that valentine's is only for adults and is exclusively about sex. It is a day to show people that you love them. I send a Valentine's message to my all friends and my family. For me it's an excuse to spread more love when there is awful lot of hate in the world, including here on Mumsnet.

No but I don't pay attention to valentines day anyway, we celebrate our wedding anniversary instead as that's personal to us
