I am Not "Woo" at all but this just happened

so I'm in no way, shape or form "woo" buuutttt just been sitting on side of my bed texting on my phone and my soundbar for TV (which I've had for 4 years with no issues) just decided to launch itself onto the floor, has hit my foot and cut it, picked it back up thinking how weird 🤷🤷 went back to my phone and a bottle of water, tube of face cream and a lip balm on top of my chest of drawers then launched themselves across the room, pretty freaked out by this point but still being rational in my head, picked phone back up carried on messaging back a friend, looked up to think what I was trying to type and felt a big tap /slap and literally saw my phone fly in the air and land other side of room, trying hard to think rationally but feeling pretty spooked right now
😭there's a rational reason for all this, yes???

Sink hole under your house?

Datgal · 09/02/2025 20:48

  1. Your soundbar launched itself onto the floor.
  2. A bottle of water, a tube of face cream and a lip balm launched themselves across the room.
  3. Your phone then 'literally flew in the air' and landed on the other side of the room.
  4. You felt a 'big tap/slap'.

I'd be looking at your local news and Facebook groups to see if anyone else had a similar experience with a vibration this huge.

If not, I think I'd book an appointment with my GP.

Edited

Exactly this. Things don't launch themselves. They might fall if they're on the edge.
And if you believe they launched themselves there's got to be 'something' doing it.
Get anybody willing to come in and ask it to leave.
My auntie did with me once when I went through something strange (also an atheist none believer btw!), and never had it had it again. I now have an open mind about what could be out there whatever it is. Not necessarily the dead is it. Nobody knows!

I think you’ve become a super hero OP

https://x-men.fandom.com/wiki/Jean_Grey

otherwise.. subsidence? Sink hole? Dodgy floor boards? Maybe you should run.. or alternatively get a builder in to check for rot.

Weird though.

omg don't sink hole me!!!! I don't believe in ghosts n stuff but sink holes terryfy me😢

Have you pissed off any ghosts?

OhMyGollyGoshGosh · 09/02/2025 20:49

Plggybacker · 09/02/2025 20:44

Good grief there's some nonsense suggestions on this thread. Whatever is going on, whether there's a scientific explanation or not, no amount of sage, priests or prayer circles is going to make a tiny bit of difference.

Exactly.

But these threads seem to draw apparently grown adult MNetters like seagulls to a bag of chips 🙄

And almost every thread starts with "I'm not at all woo but..."

If there's been no earth tremor, distant explosion or anything similar then it's far more likely to be a mental health issue developing, than Ghostly Gary chucking lip balms around.

It’s happening before your eyes. What’s not to believe?

haha possibly😂😂 ermm sound I think from last survey, I mean we haven't foundations on some sort of ancient burial ground or anything, 1950's house

I meant more are the sliding?

Frostynoman · 09/02/2025 20:51

It clearly wants your attention!

Orland0 · 09/02/2025 20:51

I think Casper’s sent a very clear message that he thinks you need to reduce your screen time 🤷‍♀️

lnks · 09/02/2025 20:51

You didn’t find an old bible in the loft of your house and then removed it did you?

If not, you’re either joking, under the influence of something, or in need of psychiatric evaluation

ShowOfHands · 09/02/2025 20:51

It's like MN is rational until somebody says "I'm not woo but..." and the sage and priest suggestions flood in or somebody offers "readings" and the thread fills up instantly with emotional pleas to "please do me".

Cantbelieveit888 · 09/02/2025 20:41

Who and what were you trying to text? Maybe they were trying to tell you something?!

freaky

my bestie, she is freaky but not THAT kind of freaky😂

LostittoBostik · 09/02/2025 20:53

It's much more likely to be an earthquake, minor tremor or sink hole thing.

I experienced a minor earthquake in Manchester once (around 2003ish) and it felt like being pushed

MrsSunshine2b · 09/02/2025 20:53

I don't believe in ghosts, at least not the type that throws things across rooms, so I think it was either:

  • You are making this up on MN for entertainment purposes
  • A bad dream that seemed very realistic
  • An episode of psychosis

And my first port of call would be a doctor, not a priest.

Ermm very localised earthquake?!

here on Wales??? I'm the only house if there was one 😂

Are you near here?

Probably another one if so

Gonners · 09/02/2025 20:55

Are you an English speaker 👹in North Wales, OP? If so, can you indicate your support for the poltergeist by singing Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau in Welsh - all three verses? Because that would be my first suggestion.

I think someone has finally discovered how to become invisible and that invisible someone is now in your house. All you have to do is ask them to shed their invisibility cloak and reveal themselves. Problem solved.

justasking111 · 09/02/2025 20:57

Tacsi · 09/02/2025 20:12

nope, Wales 😔

We do get little quakes in Wales. Around Bethesda especially.. check the local FB pages.

RedDeer · 09/02/2025 20:57

Do you have a carbon dioxide alarm? As a lot of spooky things in houses can be caused by carbon dioxide affecting our brain's. Just a thought.

SoNiceToComeHomeTo · 09/02/2025 20:58

I don't see how an earthquake, subsidence or a sink hole could make several objects fly through the air in an otherwise stationary and normal room.
If you are being serious OP and this isn't a joke, it would be worth exploring poltergeist activity, ie not a ghost but some kind of energy given off by a troubled person in the vicinity.

SilentLetterDay · 09/02/2025 20:58

Years ago my nan was in her kitchen washing up, I was stood outside at the open back door talking to her and my mum who was also outside with me. I watched a kitchen knife lift off the worktop on the other side of the kitchen then launch itself at my nans back, it hit her then it fell to the floor.

I looked at my mum, she looked at me, then we both looked at my nan as she calmly picked the knife up and put it away like nothing had happened.

I have had loads of stuff like this happen over the years and I don't have an explanation for any of them!
