I am Not "Woo" at all but this just happened

so I'm in no way, shape or form "woo" buuutttt just been sitting on side of my bed texting on my phone and my soundbar for TV (which I've had for 4 years with no issues) just decided to launch itself onto the floor, has hit my foot and cut it, picked it back up thinking how weird 🤷🤷 went back to my phone and a bottle of water, tube of face cream and a lip balm on top of my chest of drawers then launched themselves across the room, pretty freaked out by this point but still being rational in my head, picked phone back up carried on messaging back a friend, looked up to think what I was trying to type and felt a big tap /slap and literally saw my phone fly in the air and land other side of room, trying hard to think rationally but feeling pretty spooked right now
😭there's a rational reason for all this, yes???

North Wales does get a lot of seismic activity https://museum.wales/articles/1283/Earthquakes-in-Wales/

however, when I was on holiday once there was a minor earthquake and the building wobbled slightly, nothing got knocked out my hand or flew off cupboards!

Oh well in that case, it’s probably this, or otherwise dodgy foundations, or dodgy floorboards.

Equake more exciting though

(See, I didn’t say sinkhole? Or even mineshaft 😁)

Love that people say these things are not real because they've never seen them.

I am a perfectly rational 62 year old. I don't watch ghost crap on tv and I don't follow conspiracy theories.

I saw this kind of thing in my brother's room in 1977.
I saw the sane kind of thing in a house where I was babysitting in 1980.
I saw a walking ghost in 1994 in the shop that I managed.

Don't tell me they're not real.

Have never experienced anything like this, but I completely agree.

I'm a totally rational person with a science degree, but I don't understand how people can categorically rule things out just because they have no evidence for it. Think about how many things people believed or didn't believe in the past because there was no evidence for it that have now been disproved.

It's highly unlikely that we've reached the pinnacle of all knowledge.

Having an hallucination doesn’t make you insane - it can be a symptom of a number of medical conditions.

what you saw is impossible. It’s not a ghost or magic.

if you truly believe you saw things fly across your room then you need to see a doctor.

Hahaha I'm not associating anything with mental heath/hallucinations, I'm perfectly fine, with no medical conditions, as I've said multiple times I don't actually believe in ghosts/magic blah blah blah
was posting 1,for a laugh, 2, rational explanation
I'm lucid as fk but if I need a doctor I'll give em a ring tomorrow 👌👌

Not woo either but had the weirdest thing happen to me also this week. Moved into a new house, invited my sister and niece over (5) to see it. Niece goes into dining room/makeshift playroom and starts screaming literally about the angry old lady in there. We calm her down, nothing more said.

then three days later. Friend comes with her little boy who’s 3 and he starts saying and crying while playing in there pointing at nothing about the lady and she has a sad face! 😬😬😬 it’s literally an empty dining room with some toys I’d set up for them! They’ve never met each other my niece and friends son! So now I’m scared to go in there 😂

Children have not had time yet to get adult’s preconceptions that ghost and paranormal activity do not exist.

They see things adults have trouble understanding.

My DD was a baby when she was looking towards the front door wanting to go to someone but she was only with me and I had her in my arms. So yes, children see things that adults can’t

We're on the Anglesey flight path.

I'm an and a half from here, but might have explained if I was closer ☺️

FWIW, I was with a group of friends when we had a similar experience. No one could give an explanation for what happened, and it was over 30 years ago.

These kinds of experiences appear to be common, but the mechanisms are beyond human understanding at the moment.

Tacsi · 09/02/2025 21:29

Chuchoter · 09/02/2025 21:11

Wales?

Most likely a giant sinkhole under your house that is starting to give way.

give over 😱😱😱😱

Minimili · 09/02/2025 21:29

I keep having similar things happen and I’m not woo at all either.

I live in a very very old house and when my DP moved in he kept mentioning things suddenly falling over or falling off things that had never moved before. I kept telling him it was a load of nonsense and that he just believed the people who said the house must be haunted as it’s so old and he was now looking for signs.

We were sitting watching tv the other night and the remote control was on the bedside table right in the middle, the remote suddenly moved like it was being pushed and fell on the floor quite a distance from the table.

There have been a few things like this happen but more annoyingly things also go missing. I once fell asleep with my AirPods in, I had an audio book on timer and fell asleep in the first 5 minutes, I woke up when it went off only 30 minutes later and DP was still awake reading and swore I had hardly moved. One AirPod was missing and we tore the house apart looking for it but never found it. I was convinced DP had moved it at first but he helped look for it for days and would have preferred to fess up if it was a joke rather then spend that much time searching.

I took my ring off to wash up and it was never seen again, there have also been many other things but they were the weirdest as they disappeared so quickly never to be seen again.

We live in a very remote area, the house is surrounded by woodland and you have to go down an unlit country road to get to it. I was once walking home (which I hate and try to avoid) and was using my phone as a torch, it was so dark despite the torch and I was walking fast to get home quickly.

I was nearly home when I heard a rustling noise behind me and swung round.
There was a figure behind me that looked like it was all in black, all I saw was a pair of eyes in a pale white face, it was almost just eyes in the dark that locked with mine.
I was absolutely terrified and turned to see if anything was in front of me or to see if any cars were coming, I looked back a split second later and the figure had gone.

I ran all the way home and collapsed in the house panting and in shock, I don’t think DP would have believed me if I hadn’t been in such a state.

I try to avoid walking home now but I’m still trying to find an explanation. I’m like OP, despite seeing these things with my own eyes I’m not convinced they are supernatural.

You will probably never get an answer OP, my only conclusion from these events is unexplained things happen and there is probably a logical reason behind it or maybe we are just skeptics and are being targeted by sort of spirit or ghost (what’s the difference?) but refuse to believe it.

I almost drove myself mad trying to think of what caused it (and I did get a carbon monoxide alarm) but now I just accept it. If it is a ghost I wish it would piss off, it’s often valuable things that go missing and it’s very irritating!

I'm anti catholic/anti priest tho(don't open that box) so can't do this 😂

One of my friends was and is an atheist but they got a priest in to bless a house after weird shit happened. The weird stuff stopped but they now consider themselves agnostic.

Have you experienced hallucinations before?

Good idea to make an appointment with your doctor.

yeahhhh every day since I was born👶👶👶👶👶

@Tacsi you sound great, and very grounded, please let us know if/ when you discover what it was but assuming it wasn't a ghost (it wasn't) it may be something actually harmful either externally or internally so be mindful of taking care pf yourself for the next few weeks.

Meandhimtogether · 09/02/2025 21:34

Friday night our clock started to chime.
Hadn't worked for the past 2 years.
Still going off every hour.
No one had been near it as it's in a corner behind the sofa.

Amaranthasweetandfair · 09/02/2025 21:35

@Minimili your AirPod is in or under your bed - if it's not there anymore you've accidentally got it tangled with bedding or clothes. You can say you fell asleep with an AirPod in and then it got lost and blame it on a ghost, come on now.

lifeonmars100 · 09/02/2025 21:35

that would really scare me! Do you live with anybody else? I live alone and this would freak me out.

Tacsi · 09/02/2025 21:35

Elphame · 09/02/2025 21:09

Are you in the Conwy valley? If so - then I'm sorry, That might have been my fault!

😂😂😂😂nope over an hour away, but one of my sons lives there, should I be warning him in advance about something??? 🤔🤔🤔⚠️⚠️

It'll be some mad frequencies given off or amplified, by the soundbar.

Do get a carbon monoxide alarm if you haven’t got one. Ovens, fires, central healing, can be a source. Exposure can cause these type of experiences.

A minor earthquake could cause this, but nothing has been reported for Wales. Are you near any mine workings?

What carbon monoxide can cause things to fly off shelves lol / who knew?

What?! They should surely be fervent believers! That's a bit disappointing.

RubyRobin1 · 09/02/2025 21:38

Hello OP. I had similar activity in my house a few years ago.
if you don’t want to get a priest, you can command it to go in the name of Jesus, but you must hold faith that it will eventually go.
I feel for you because I have experienced this sort of activity a few times in my life (starting at a young age) and I always turn to science for a logical explanation. If I can’t find it, I always turn to prayer.
I hope your house is peaceful tonight.

MyrtleLion · 09/02/2025 21:39
  • Most likely to be that the house has settled slightly and your chest of drawers is no longer level, hence things falling off.
  • Perhaps get a spirit level and check. Your chest of drawers might have woodworm and settled slightly.
  • Or a floorboard is damp/rotten and the furniture has settled.
Chuchoter · 09/02/2025 21:39

I'd get a suitcase ready by the front door if I were you.

SereneCapybara · 09/02/2025 21:40

I am a bit woo, but honestly, if that happened, I'd be more worried about an earth tremor or sink hole or some electrical disturbance - something physical rather than spiritual.

TyrannasaurusJex · 09/02/2025 21:41

It's weird but there absolutely is an explanation for it. You do not need to call a priest or any other kind of quack. As Tim Minchin says "these people aren't plying a skill, they're either lying or mentally ill"
