Perhaps I should explain why I choose to hold judgement until I know both sides. If all you who oppose me had any training, you would better understand why I insist on knowing two sides of an argument.
A DD complained that her DM was suffering from dementia and was becoming violent. She wanted her put into a residential home. The mother was poor enough to be entitled to a free place, and she lived in a council flat.
One day, a carer also backed the daughter's claim as she too had witnessed some loss of temper. In the event, the elderly woman when undressed was found to be covered in bruises, and not just any bruises either. They were whole hand prints, palms and fingers. It was truly shocking.
Dementia is said to be increasing. It is not unknown for some sufferers to be so glad to be away from abuse they take to dementia as a defence.
Now I am not saying there is anything like that going on here, but too many of you are making assumptions, and taking sides. What is a kitchen sink drama one day may be worse on another.
The OP may be innocent. No one knows though, do they? Now she has all the backing of many posters on this thread, which may or may not allow her leverage on another future occasion.
Please, be wary of whose side you take.
