Dryrobe W****r

Am I being unreasonable that I’ve discovered there is a Facebook page taking non consenting photos of lone women and children in dryrobes and mocking them. Or am I a snowflake? I wear one. Whilst I know they aren’t a stylish choice. It’s the most practical thing I’ve owned in years. I would be furious if someone took a photo of me and uploaded it

Wow... open water swimmer, rugby coach, human changing room and non judgemental over far more delicate people that just want to be warm and dry. What a woman you are 💪👏

Genuinely not sure what the point of that comment was… 🤣 I’m coaching u10s not the national team. But I can swim quite far,
so I’ll take that 😘

Haha you never know who you're potentially coaching!

My partner coaches my son's football team. It's not the easiest job, although it's mostly the parents that cause the headaches, not the 11 year olds 🙈

I thought the point of the page was to laugh at people who wear DR when they've clearly not been swimming/dog walking/standing on the touchline.

A bit like mocking people who live in the centre of a major city and have a Chelsea Tractor just to do the school run.

not really, Chelsea tractors impact everyone else's parking and traffic.

People wearing DR have no impact on anyone else!

I guess they're both status symbols

BreezyScroller · 10/02/2025 15:12

they can be, but in town with normal driving needs and the usual parking problems, there's no much point in a Chelsea Tractor.

Most people I know even have a smaller car for the week, too small to fit the entire family at once, but actually very practical on a daily basis!

WowIlikereallyhateyou · 10/02/2025 15:16

Taking pictures of DRW’s is nearly as bad a crime as wearing one when you are not a swimmer! Just sayin’.

DR a status symbol? What status is that? 😂😂

Middle class??? A coat… seem like a low cost entry into the middles classes 😅😅😅

And not a very expensive coat at that! 😂🤣😂

Not everyone can afford £160 for a beach coat, not sure why that's so funny

BitOutOfPractice · 10/02/2025 19:48

Bodenne · 09/02/2025 18:10

Yes

I think the dozens of big quilted puffa coats hung at my gym by the very fit and toned young women who wear them would put pays to that theory.

MummaMummaJumma · 10/02/2025 19:48

Haha! I wear mine absolutely everywhere, it’s so warm! I’ll start posing if I see someone with the phone pointed towards me now. It’s mean, but not illegal. Bit sad that people are part of a FB group about it though, each for their own.

fc123 · 10/02/2025 20:00

Dry robe W**ker and proud.
With my grandchildren. With my Micheal Kors 'mutton' sunglasses from Delhi airport after a few weeks on India trip post divorce. I cannot find the photo of my matching glitter ice blue gel toenails.
I AM a 60 something style icon 😂😂😂
This was in April, we live on the coast and the sun was out but it was freezing!
And yes, they both climbed under and inside it at some point

Have we not long established that they aren’t ’beach coats’ and certainly aren’t being used only on the beach, hence all the DR wankers???

fc123 · 10/02/2025 20:41

They're very good value taking everything into consideration.
I had a Moonwrap purchased just before lockdown at £80 and it was an inferior lesser quality copy of Dryrobe.
But then I discovered Annox and they do 2 qualities. A thinner one then the one I bought (as pcs above) and it was about £65 from Euroskate website. I think it's their own brand though as it's not available anywhere else.

Loveumagenta · 11/02/2025 14:54

Seen lots of Moonwraps about, not quite as hardy but I suppose it depends what you use it for

Loveumagenta · 18/02/2025 07:52

Went to a football match and there were a LOT of women wearing DR. They looked warm and cosy! But I’m sure some dickhead will have posted pics of them… might go check the grp!

ShrimpPasta · 18/02/2025 14:45

I can’t believe the amount of vitriol about an item of clothing. I joined the group to see what it was all about and honestly can’t believe how nasty and horrible people can be.

CellophaneFlower · 18/02/2025 15:17

I just joined... they're so pathetic 😂 They get so incensed if somebody calls it a coat and for some reason think they look like bin liners? I've seen some shiny puffa types that look like bin bags but I wouldn't particularly say dryrobes do 🤔 Silly little 'men', with the odd woman piping up hoping to make them laugh 🙄

Anyway, mine came. I almost didn't wear it to my son's match on Sunday as I didn't think it was cold enough, but I did thankfully, as it was baltic! 2 other mums wanted to know how warm it was as they're considering one now. Happy to have spread the 'disease' 🙈

ThatsNotMyTeen · 18/02/2025 15:26

It really is pathetic to take the piss out of people minding their own business I’d love to see the sartorial elegance of the posters to the page!

PorkHollywood · 18/02/2025 18:25

You don’t have to actually join the Facebook group, you can just look.
