Was I body shamed at Mcdonalds

Went to Mcdonalds drive through as a treat, my DD wanted to pay, so handed the 5 pound note from the back seat. The man working on the drive through thought it was funny and said ''it's a good job I'm slim'' I have no idea what being slim had to do with it, he could reach but not because he was slim.. feel it was a dig at me

You're being ridiculous.

Paganpentacle · 05/02/2025 14:37

No.
Do you generally go around looking for pretend insults?

ERthree · 05/02/2025 15:06

Why didn't your daughter pass the money to you instead of the man having to stretch. You are in the wrong not him.

Okie dokie.
Fit and healthy here and eat whatever I want . Just wouldn't want to eat that stuff as it's barely even food let alone badging it as a' treat ' 🤔

If it's something you enjoy and it's something you rarely have then yes of course it's a treat. Just because it's bad for you, doesn't make it any less of a treat.

My friend treats herself to sushi.

I'd rather eat my own shit than eat sushi but that doesn't mean I'm too dim to understand that for her, it is a treat because she likes it.

What???? How was you body shamed? Are you ok? I honestly can’t see where you are coming from, you’re looking for an issue that isn’t there.
FFS, this really bores me, it seems no one can open their mouth these days for fear it’ll be perceived or deliberately twisted into fat shaming, thin shaming, body shaming, racism, black, white, etc etc.
F**king grow up! The guy was just having a light hearted joke and being kind. Give your head a shake!

QuickMember · 05/02/2025 19:24

He wasn’t fat shaming you, don’t worry, he seemed like he was trying to somewhat awkwardly making conversation with your daughter. Hope the meal was good, have not had a macdonalds for ages.

If you say so.

I think millions of people would probably disagree with you there, but you carry on being all superior and amazing.

Double sausage & egg McMuffin for breakfast in the morning for me...fucking delicious

@Serenandnova

@WilmaTitsDrop 's description of a treat is literally spot on.

A 'treat' is something you enjoy, or enjoy a lot.
I had a friend once who said her weekly treat to herself was to go swimming for an hour. She just loved that hour of pounding up and down the lanes, with no-one talking to her, and just being alone with her own thoughts.

For me you'd have to pay me a lot of money to make me go into a public swimming baths for an hour. It is the absolute opposite of a treat but buy me a box of those Lindt truffles and I'm your friend for ever.

I think someone's one nugget short of a Happy Meal here.

😂

Because he had to squeeze at an akward angle, through a shitty little window, because you didn't just pay like you're supposed to as a 'treat' for your daughter to pay. Has nothing to do with what you look looked like and everything to do with the extra contortions because you had a child pay from the back seat and he had to lean out further to facilitate it. Maybe go in if she wants to pay next time? Can guarantee there was no consideration to how you look and you're a bit paranoid.

Maverickess · 07/02/2025 22:16

This is exactly why working in customer service is frustrating to the point people don't want to do it, or stop caring.
This guy went out of his way to give good customer service by facilitating your daughter paying @ChopstickNovice
@L9ucy and you are complaining about him (at least on here) because of your own hang ups, and expecting validation for it.
ChopstickNovice please ignore the tag, I hit your UN by mistake and now it won't delete no matter what I do! Sorry 😬
