AIBU to be absolutely outraged about the report on the liberation of Auschwitz of GMB without one mention of the fact they were Jewish people who were killed?

There were concentration camps for the Nazis political opponents too.....but the point about Aushwitz -Birkenau was that it was an industrial scale death camp - created specifically in order to speed up the process by bringing in Jews, in railway cars, from around Europe - directly to the gas chambers.

German concentration camps killed 11 million people, of whom 6 million were Jews. Other people were involved, 😔

The whole 'final solution' was predicated on the extermination of the Jews of Europe. Raging anti-semitism was the very core and modus operandi of Nazism. But Yes, other 'undesirables' and opponents were killed too; but Hitler imagined tha it was the Jews who were responbsible for all of Germany's woes. He thought they were responsible for everything bad that was happening in Germany. Everything was a Jewish plot.

Yes, but the point about Nazism was its inherent anti semitism. It was totally paranoiac. The Jews were poisoning the blood of Germany; they were at once responsible for Communism, but also responbsible for Capitalism. Anti Semitism was an inherent pillar and principle of Nazism. The Jews were at the root of all that was bad and of the decline and losss of confidence in Germany that occured as a result of World War 1.

It was 6 million Jews. If they want to acknowledge that the Nazis targeted other groups too, that’s fine. But to hide the anti-semitism is odd. It was an awful atrocity and should be highlighted as such.

No, history is not repeating itself. Israel is not attempting to wipe out all Palestinians and eradicate their culture. The Holocaust was not triggered by Jews launching a terrorist attack on Germany. Hitler was not responding to threats to wipe Germany off the map. How can you not see the differences?
