Does Trump just say whatever comes into his head?

I'm only partly joking. Does Trump script his speeches with the aid of an adviser, or do you think he is just winging it the whole time? I mean, SURELY there can't be anyone in his office who is telling him it's a good idea to suggest renaming the Gulf of Mexico, or to get Palestinian refugees rehomed in Egypt and Jordan as if they were fucking rescue pets? Surely there must be someone in there with even an ounce of intelligence and political nous? AIBU to think he must be either going off-script? It's almost satirical

😂😂😂😂😂😂

Do you want to write your opinion instead of just emoji?

Isn't it good to move people out of a war torn area temporarily, to stop them dying?

Huge numbers of people are dying in gaza

Remember all the blunders that bush junior used to say aswell .

Some of his were so funny. They did a remix

George W Bush once said that the French don't have a word for entrepreneur. 😂

George W Bush once said that the French don't have a word for entrepreneur. 😂

And he said

'We can put food on our family"

He meant" we can put food on the table for our family "

TempestTost · 26/01/2025 23:16

I think Bush Jr's persona was a lot more premeditated than he let on. A bit like Boris.

Briannaco · 26/01/2025 23:17

Do you think they'll ever have a female president?

They really seem to not respect women

I think he's right about the Palestinians.

Why would it be wrong to move them when Palestine is being devastated by war.

When ukraine was attacked by Russia, Ukrainians were moved into other countries

So Ukrainians were detained and forcibly removed from Ukraine?

Briannaco · 26/01/2025 23:23

Simonjt · 26/01/2025 23:20

So Ukrainians were detained and forcibly removed from Ukraine?

Where has he said that he is going to forcibly move then from palestine?

Unless you have read a different article to me.

In the article that I read, trump said that he wanted to get the Palestinians out of gaza for their own safety, as Gaza is such a dangerous wartorn area at the moment.

CharityShopChic · 26/01/2025 23:25

As my dad used to say, he opens his mouth and lets his belly rumble.

You yourself said Ukrainians were moved to other countries, can you provide proof that Ukrainians were detained and moved to other countries.

You do know that while the Israelis were pounding the hell out of Gaza, there was no escape for the Gazans? They were trapped like rats throughout the bombardment - they were unable to leave. Nothing at all like Ukraine, where at least the citizens could seek refuge, if they wanted to, with the intention of returning to their country in the future.

Now those who have survived in Gaza are to be ‘cleaned out’ of their homeland? If the Gazans are forced out on the basis of Gaza having been turned to shit by Israel, it will be to facilitate not a reconstruction to enable the Gazans to return, but the biggest land-grab yet. Which has, of course, always been Israel’s long-term aim.

What are you on about. I never once wrote that Ukrainians were detained and moved to other countries. Why would I write that . We all know that Ukrainians weren't detained and forcibly moved. That's common knowledge

I said that Ukranians were given the option to safely move to other countries.

I've spoken to many Ukrainians, as there were many ukranians who moved to my area.

They were given hotel rooms to live in, and enough money to live off until they got jobs.

They were supported to safely move to another country. For their safety.

You said this

”When ukraine was attacked by Russia, Ukrainians were moved into other countries”

To achieve the above you would need to detain people.

GrumpyPanda · 26/01/2025 23:32

Deetelves · 26/01/2025 21:08

Well most of the Israeli Jewish people are actually from all around the globe given that the state of Israel was founded in 1948… should they start going back to where they came from too?

In answer to OP question - yes I think he does. He wants to be the BIG swinging dick which means yelling out pronouncements and backing it up with force or threats. What. A.Man.

The majority of Israel's population are actually Middle Eastern in origin, so that argument won't fly.

No. Youre being word about wording.

I'll clarify it then.

Ukranians were not detained.

They were given the option to move safely.

And many did move

Is that your wishful thinking? If so, funny how the left gets away with wishing a politician to be shot.

It’s what’s happening already. Multiple attempts are being made on his life as he increases the number of his enemies around the world. It’s just the reality when policies are brought in a fairly brutal fashion without regard to those who are affected. Not Left or Right - it”s about personality. Stalin comes to mind also.

agree with this ^
I know I shouldn’t but it is quite fascinating. However I believe in “beware what you wish for”. So I restrain myself for praising Trump in even a tiny way.

He’s a dynamic and successful businessman who is now propped up by the richest person on Earth in a convenient friendship. He’s not as stupid as he sometimes seems, money and confidence are key. I do absolutely love the look on his sons face sometimes I get the feeling he might be thinking the same as a lot of others 😂😂😂

@Briannaco

No, they were not. There have been 6mln refugees who FLED the war and were offered refugee in other countries. There are still over 30 million in Ukraine either fighting the Russians or surviving. Nobody was forcibly moved by an outside power. By all means any Palestinians who want flee Gaza, should be given the same rights but nobody should be moved against their will.
If this is Trump’s plan for the promised long term solution to the conflict, I worry what his plans are for the promised end of war in Ukraine. Remove the Ukrainians and give the land to Russia?
The man is a lunatic.

Oh bullshit. If their safety is such a concern then why don't the Israelis take them into Israel?
Every Palestinian who leaves Gaza/Israel knows they will never go back. They'd be losing their homeland.
Maybe Trump should offer them asylum in the US, that might tempt a few.

healthybychristmas · 27/01/2025 00:11

I just can't believe he's teetotal. I remembered during his first term thinking, when I'd hear about his tweets in the middle of the night, that he must be absolutely pissed out of his head. I was astonished to find that he didn't drink at all. I thought it was the only excuse!

Ravensperch · 27/01/2025 00:14

His speech reminds me of a 5 year old’s stream of consciousness. “I flew over some of those beautiful windmills, they’re falling down by the way. Half of them weren’t spinning and the ones that were, were going so slow”

”I think Greenland will be worked out with us. I think we’re going to have it.

״I’m going to do Russia, whose economy is failing, and President Putin, a very big FAVOR”

Although Boris Johnson unscripted and burbling on about Peppa Pig World and brandishing a packet of kippers etc, wasn’t much less insane.

"Why don't the Israelis take them into Israel?"

Eh what. Because they don't want to of course. They are fighting each other

That would be like saying "why don't Russia take in Ukranian refugees".

Israel are never going to take in Palestinian refugees, when Israel are attacking palestine.

Other surrounding countries should offer to take in Palestinian refugees.

And again this would be an option for those Palestinian refugees who want it.

No one would be forced to leave If they don't want to.

Soonenough · 27/01/2025 00:36

The frightening thing is that sometimes he says things that are what people want to hear but are afraid to express it themselves like the issues around borders and migrants. Uncontrollable immigration IS a bad thing but his solutions are so crazy and drastic. And he appeals to what a large majority of people care about most like the money in their pockets . And his ability to ride roughshod over any discussion or debate when he decides to say or do anything is incredible. No idea how he gets away with it .

Thedogscollar · 27/01/2025 00:47

In a nutshell, yes he does.
