A well stocked fridge...

A full tank of petrol in a freshly cleaned car...

Fully stocked bathroom with toiletries, new bars of soap, plenty of loo roll, new tube of toothpaste...

A full wood store and full basket of wood by the fire...

Ugh. I love the feeling. I think I have a bit of prepper in me. I love the actual act of stocking it all up and then looking at it like a caveman who's brought home a leg of mammoth for the family.

@Satisfactionguaranteed now we are a splurge buy now worry later family, and I’m wondering why because it really is the simple things that make us happy! Moved from cookies to breadsticks and houmous, no bra, in my pjs and it’s glorious! A walk later on as well.
Im going to give myself a budget each week for stuff, and try and live as simply as possible for a few weeks. Lots of self care, clean pjs, walks and hot chocolate (and shaved legs)

Stepping outside some day towards end March June and realising omg it's spring

Absolutely agree. We are very much a "live within our means" kind of family. I've no desire for expensive luxuries when a trip to the beach in January with my toddler and a couple of flasks of hot chocolate brings me the most joy.

I do wish that freshly shaved feeling would last longer though...

Get your legs waxed - lasts for weeks!

There are some lovely examples of nothing beats the feeling on this thread, fresh sheets, first flowers of spring. Yesterday though we scored three goals in our local derby. I’ve been happy all weekend.

I swear I could smell spring in the air a couple of days ago. Maybe I'm kidding myself.

Definitely and spotting the first daffodil.

Mymanyellow · 23/01/2025 08:16

I’ve just seen a couple of little green stems poking up in my garden. Could be daffs coming up?

Having finally done the dreaded tax return. 🙂

A scrubbed house with a lit candle! Kids’ uniforms all laid out for the week ahead, my work clothes washed and ironed for the week ahead, school/ work bags packed and by the door, freezer full of meal prepped foods, reaching ground zero with the washing… is it obvious I’m aggressively type A?!?!?

Edited

This sounds like me! What's type A?

Morning cuddles in bed with dgs. Best thing ever.

squashyhat · 23/01/2025 09:45

Lying on a sunlounger (appropriately shaded) in 30 degree heat listening to the sound of waves and feeling a gentle breeze. In January. Right now in fact.

if you weigh once a week in Boots, a good weight loss result when you’ve stuck to your diet/weight loss plan

The smell of freshly cut grass and seeing washing on the line

Starting a new book
Hearing the excitement of my neighbour’s dogs setting off on their morning walk
Holding DH’s hand

MamaToABeautifulBoy · 23/01/2025 11:22

Collecting my son from nursery, seeing his little face beaming as he runs towards me. I don’t think there is anything else quite like that feeling

A good night’s sleep on clean, crisp linen, and then waking naturally, undisturbed by my DH going for a wee at 2am, my son waking up at 4am, my dogs asking to go out at 5am or my work alarm clock going off at 7am

Completing a tricky work project that’s been hanging over me, and doing it successfully, the relief. Nearly up there with taking off my bra!

The last 30 seconds of a work out

Putting my son down for his (usually long) lunchtime nap on my day off, stripping off and hopping into bed with my dogs, some lovely food and a good series on tv

How my DH makes me feel so loved and adored

Getting the all clear when I’ve been anxious about medical tests

Hearing my toddler son sing or giggle. My heart.

I misread dgs as dogs. Still works though.
