Nothing beats the feeling of...

A well stocked fridge...

A full tank of petrol in a freshly cleaned car...

Fully stocked bathroom with toiletries, new bars of soap, plenty of loo roll, new tube of toothpaste...

A full wood store and full basket of wood by the fire...

Ugh. I love the feeling. I think I have a bit of prepper in me. I love the actual act of stocking it all up and then looking at it like a caveman who's brought home a leg of mammoth for the family.

Waking up pain-free after a migraine. That back in the land of the living feeling. And then feeding my body whatever it's craving (usually a McDonald's!)

The initial caffeine buzz from a really great cup of tea.

Plus all the lovely things previously mentioned!

namechangeGOT · 18/01/2025 19:00

Sitting at work knowing you've got nothing to do housework wise when you get home!

hereismydog · 18/01/2025 19:01

Oooh, I’ve a few!

• Getting into fresh sheets with freshly shaved and moisturised legs

• Taking out a tight ponytail

• When your nose finally unblocks after having a cold, or, better yet, when your ear unblocks after having water trapped inside it

• That full-body relaxed, sleepy feeling you get after a good hour or so of swimming

• Getting a BIG burp out of a newborn after patting away at their back for ages

I could go on 😂

ERthree · 18/01/2025 19:03

Sitting on my empty beach with a cup of tea listening to the waves crash onto the shore.

Also...as a teacher, finally uploading my completed lesson plans for the week ahead, knowing that I don't need to turn my laptop back on until Monday morning 😬

Do you use AI to do them? I was a teacher and heard about people doing this the other day. I entered a typical topic in and stated the length of the lesson and the lesson plan was really really good! It would've saved me hours and hours.

Running in the morning by the river with birds singing at sunrise. (smug)
Also: massage. (just had one and feel great.)

I can’t run anymore (knees, back, hips 😩) but I get that same feeling when I’m the first one in the lake of a morning while the sun rises, it’s just beautiful and serene, ducks bobbing along, geese flying in formation above… ahhhh!

and you’ve just reminded me I’m having a massage this week and I’m so bloody excited again!

Sandsnake · 18/01/2025 19:04

My Saturday gin and tonic in the bath (may be happening now…).

The first sip of a pint in a proper pub following a good walk.

The feeling of calm tiredness when sitting and relaxing after a full on day of physical activity (hiking, running, and especially skiing)

The crunch of new snow under your feet (doesn’t happen near often enough where I live!)

Looking out at clothes blowing dry on the washing line.

I'm looking forward to that later in the year. Meanwhile it's a combination of tumble dryer/clothes airer and radiator until spring arrives 😊

Bollocksmorelike · 18/01/2025 19:07

Putting a room back together once you have finished decorating it. Having washed and cleaned everything, then arranging it all so it’s all fabulous! Just sitting back to admire the new loveliness of your own fine work!

Using a heated throw to heat up the bed before you get in on a cold evening.

A great lie in.

coralsky · 18/01/2025 19:10

Clean bedding, clean pjs and a bath before bed

DogRuff · 18/01/2025 19:12

So many of those already mentioned but also - I’m going to lower the tone now (speaking as one who is a little bit bunged up due to Mounjaro) - a great big poo 😳

SoScarletItWas · 18/01/2025 19:13

The third glass of wine.

A cat choosing your lap.

Sunlight on your face.

Gently sinking your head into the pillow when you’ve got a blinding headache.

Awhh ❤️

Satinscrunchie129 · 18/01/2025 19:15

peace.

no health worries
no work worries
no other worries

just peace. The older I get the less I experience just “peace”

Sorry to lower the tone, but a big tummy deflating fart first thing in the morning (I'm not a windy person other than that).

And bin day, after they've been and you've managed to get every last atom of rubbish out the house.

Im pretty basic, obviously.

Yes a right good fart is actually probably the best. Also a massive burp when you've had trapped wind and you move just the right way to let it out. Makes me realise the relief little babies must feel.

I like to garden and I love getting into the shower when I'm properly sweaty and dirty and stiff and then getting into clean clothes afterwards.
I love filling in the last number in a sudoku or the last work in a crossword.
I love massages. I must book one soon.

FurForksSake · 18/01/2025 19:22

Centering a ball of clay and pulling up a perfect wall.

Or

A pig poo after being constipated.

andwhy · 18/01/2025 19:22

Putting your head on your pillow when all the family are home under the same roof (a rare treat these days!)

Satisfactionguaranteed · 18/01/2025 19:23

@FrannyScraps

It probably also brings about satisfaction of being able to afford it. There's a great comfort in not worrying about these things.

Not sure if this is a dig or not. Yes, I can afford these things. Yes, it's very satisfying.
