Nothing beats the feeling of...

A well stocked fridge...

A full tank of petrol in a freshly cleaned car...

Fully stocked bathroom with toiletries, new bars of soap, plenty of loo roll, new tube of toothpaste...

A full wood store and full basket of wood by the fire...

Ugh. I love the feeling. I think I have a bit of prepper in me. I love the actual act of stocking it all up and then looking at it like a caveman who's brought home a leg of mammoth for the family.

First cup of coffee in the morning when you have a day off….

tulipsunday · 18/01/2025 19:46

That moment when all of your young children are asleep and you can go downstairs and have a moment of peace. Yes I do love them really but I also love that moment 🤣

Satisfactionguaranteed · 18/01/2025 19:51

@arcticpandas

A bit tonedeaf. If you read what others have written it's about small joys accessible to everyone.

There's always one 🙄

Jobs, partners and pets aren't accessible to everyone. Shall I only talk about nice things that everyone can have?

What about the posters talking about going for a walk or a run? Better delete those for all the people in wheelchairs who are reading.

I'll try again. Nothing beats the feeling of... breathing air in and out of my lungs 🤷🏻‍♀️

We have a look out point close to us where you can see dolphins on a regular basis, the excitement when you spot them through your binoculars.

Fresh, clean bed linen.

This

I love the smell of Napalm in the morning. Apocalypse Now lovers from back in the day will get it!

Happyhettie · 18/01/2025 19:57

My very happy, purry cat sitting on your lap being fussed,
Being greeted at the door by my very happy, purry cat,
Clean pyjamas and fresh bedding after a bath or a shower,
Sitting in the spring sunshine looking at the spring flowers,
Hanging your washing out on the line in the sunshine,
Being hugged by someone you love ❤️

Happyhettie · 18/01/2025 19:58

Got another one…
A song you love being played on the radio

Actual Napalm? The kind that was used in the Vietnam war and whose descendants are still having profoundly disabled babies? Why would you say such a thing?

Hollowvoice · 18/01/2025 19:59

Lots of lovely things in this thread.
I have been struggling to find the good/happy moments recently but this has reminded me to find joy in small things

Sourisblanche · 18/01/2025 20:00

First thing that came to mind was a walk up a hill on a clear bright day.

LinnettdeBelleforte · 18/01/2025 20:00

A really amazing back scratch. My back drives me nuts with how itchy it is and my husband gives the best scratches.
Snuggles with our cat. She is so soft and fluffy and warm, and very affectionate.
The first spritz of perfume. I have a massive perfume collection and rotate them very regularly. I especially love spraying on summer fragrances in winter, it is sometimes almost as good as a blast of heat, and it is a promise of summer.
The plane taxiing down the runway on its way to somewhere hot!
A really good TV show.
A really amazing vintage dress, paired with some heirloom jewellery (I have a lot of family jewellery)
The sense of achievement after having deep cleaned the house.
A really amazing meal out.

Settle down, it's a phrase used to be sarcastic etc. I won't be guilt tripped into being politically correct either, it's a goddam film FGS.

A cup of tea when you're just on the cusp of a cold.

Sort of a medicinal purposes cup of tea.

Fresh bed linen, clean pjs and fresh out the bath/shower. Tucked up all clean with a cuppa, some chocolate and a book. Bliss.

My idea of heaven. Although at the moment nothing would beat the feeling of the washing machine deciding not to break and flood the kitchen 🤔

VonHally · 18/01/2025 20:07

Moving swiftly on from Napalm 😊I adore the indulgence of going to bed early, earbuds charged, electric blanket on, and snuggling down to watch some shite on Facebook reels or Netflix. Has to be rubbish as I can never stay awake long enough to follow anything requiring concentration. It's especially delicious following a tiring day when the bones and the muscles crave rest. Aaaaagh.

DarkDarkNight · 18/01/2025 20:07

Getting into a bed with an electric blanket, ah it’s bliss.

A scrubbed house with a lit candle! Kids’ uniforms all laid out for the week ahead, my work clothes washed and ironed for the week ahead, school/ work bags packed and by the door, freezer full of meal prepped foods, reaching ground zero with the washing… is it obvious I’m aggressively type A?!?!?

Edited

Would love to see your daily routine! I can only dream of this level of organisation.

For me it would be fresh bed linen

We also have a flooded kitchen courtesy of a burst pipe, so the water has been shut off.
fortunately our neighbours on each side are plumbers and one said he’ll pop round soon!

Hope your flood gets sorted soon!

Perzival · 18/01/2025 20:09

Kids asleep, Clean bedding, freshly showered, shaved legs and that first touch when you haven't had any in a while 😉
