Whilst the lack of towel between body and bench is indeed unhygienic and completely agree it is inappropriate, the degree of pearl
clutching going on around general nudity on this thread is a little much. It’s a single gender environment, and to be honest women being comfortable in their nudity I view as positive rather than ‘performative’. I’ve lived in a number of countries where being naked on saunas is expected (and indeed obligatory from a hygiene perspective) and similarly in changing rooms, I’ve found women to be far less self-conscious. It was very liberating and finally helped me get over the desperate towel clutching of post school swimming lessons… If it’s easier to get fully dry and moisturise pre-underwear, I will always still do that. But yes, definitely with an inter-minge-bench towel…
