To think that Musk is now overstepping himself and the UK gvt should threaten action

Musk has just posted this on twitter (among other unhinged tweets). To me this reads as a thinly veiled threat to democratically elected UK MPs and actually the UK government should consider sanctions to the US if he continues this attack when he enters the White House?

What action should they threaten?

Like i said earlier, there are some deranged people who will cheer should another MP be murdered.

It’s not his circus!

Whose is it

Overtheatlantic · 07/01/2025 07:41

Musk is a foreigner.
Musk doesn’t care about British girls.
Musk has a political agenda.

GoldThumb · 07/01/2025 07:41

Labour really can’t complain about foreigners stating their opinions when they went over to the States to campaign for Kamala.

Their authoritarian ’rules for thee, but not for me’ mindset.

The hypocrisy is staggering.

As is the hypocrisy from all the posters on here, after the thousands of threads we’ve had here commenting on Trump

FirstOfTheFirst · 07/01/2025 07:43

There is absolutely no way on earth multi billionaire Musk is a bastion of morality. So he's not doing this out of a sense of decency. There's something else at play and as it has been power at the root of plays like this since the dawn of time, it'll be power this time. He's just a different model of power hungry.

Overtheatlantic · 07/01/2025 07:44

Musk “stating an opinion” is the same as campaigning and a call to arms.

rewilded · 07/01/2025 07:44

Populism is now in motion. Look back to how this plays out. Unless we have a Government that dampens this down it will only rise. Musk, Trump, Farage and others across Europe are in full swing. It will take an alternative to Musk et al to stop this...oh wait we had Biden, Macron and now we have Starmer( fuel to the fire IMO) to sort this. Boris did try to sppeal to masses but he wasn't strong enough. I think he did have an understanding of the wider implications of Populism.

Overtheatlantic · 07/01/2025 07:47

No doubt the real reason Trudeau resigned yesterday is because he doesn’t want to get annihilated by the populist movement.

Did Labour activists call for the murder of US politicians....? must have missed that bit...

Plus it was Labour activists in their own time, it wasn't official.

Not that facts matter to some people.

OneLemonDog · 07/01/2025 07:48

I don't think sanctioning the US is a prudent move. I really hope, though, that we re-strenghten ties with Europe (that doesnt have to mean rejoining the EU). I dont think its completely unfathomable that Europe will need to protect itself against the US.

Plenty of people on here lamenting it was a shame that Trumps bullet wasn’t ‘a few inches over’. Threads and threads full of it.

Don't really want to get into Whataboutery, but the hypocrisy is really getting jarring

Lol, funny... as you bought in the whataboutery by comparing peaceful campaigning by individuals in the USA election & Trumps assassination attempt with a man and a platform calling for revolution/murder and jail without trial in the UK....

Incredible that, i assume British citizens, are all ok with this.

FKAT · 07/01/2025 07:55

Aye and the threads about school shootings. Everyone thinks it's fine to get involved in another country's laws and policies then.

Did you think the same about the Tories - why didn’t they take action?

I see the corrupt Tulip voted against. The fact Starmer hasn’t NOT sacked her, shows how poor his political judgement is. Every time I think that the government has reached a new low in terms of venality, hypocrisy and dishonesty, another fact comes to light and I realise how much worse things are.

It is fascinating to read the names on that list. I am glad that someone is shining a light on the cesspit this country has become: grand, out of touch sanctimonious MPs living on taxpayer cash and voting to keep foreign born rapists in this country. God forbid we endanger their human rights!!

Starmer once described all immigration laws as inherently racist. Then about that and the next 4.5 years.

I said I’m getting annoyed by the constant hypocrisy, and pointed out some of it.

Either people think it’s okay to comment on other countries, or they don’t.

If you don’t, then keep it consistent.

JRSKSSBH · 07/01/2025 06:43

Actually I am grateful for this information. Why a foreign born rapist should not be deported is extraordinary to me.

Can you point to the bill and debate where this actually happened? Or do you just believe every word he says?

Foreign-born rapists are automatically deported at end of sentence as are any convicts convicted of a violent crime or a non-violent crime with a sentence of 1 year or longer. This has been the case for many years and is not changing.

Who gives a fuck about the Tories? The party is dead, buried by a succession of fuck wit liberals like Cameron, Osborne and Johnson.

FKAT · 07/01/2025 07:59

Sadly I think the government will use this as an excuse to crack down on free speech online even more. It will soon be a crime to write about this subject online except in prescripted ways.

The Tories needed to go as well. Both World Economic Forum parties and neither have our best interests at heart.

Pup the other one, it has a bell on it. There is NO automatic deportation. EHRC trumps all.

Was organised by the Labour Party - kind of was official.
