Ocado delivery missing items

Is it reasonable to expect that a grocery delivery company figures out how to ensure customers get what they order?
Out of 6 packets of fresh sausage meat stuffing (2x3 different kinds ordered to ensure we got something) ALL of them have been removed from my delivery today as being out of stock.
Seriously? It's not that difficult. It's a PRE-ORDER. The order went in weeks ago. Cut off for the order was 2 days ago. How in gods name are they so crap that they ran out of ALL the stuffing FOR A PREORDER?

No missing things for me this year, and just one substitution. I did learn not to have a coveted 6pm Xmas Eve slot about 20 years ago after ALL my veg was missing. Every single item of veg! Now I have a 23rd delivery so I have time to panic shop if needs be.

I had no missing items this year, but last year I had forgotten that I added a couple of items as ‘placeholders” to bump the cost up so I could book and check it out well in advance. Forgot to edit the order to remove those items and ended up with two bottles of whiskey and a bottle of champagne I would not otherwise have ordered. Good for gifts though.

Sausagemeat is in higher demand than usual due to viral videos on making sausage rolls according to my butcher. Just buy sausages and remove the skins!

I once received a delivery that was a bottle of whisky, 200 molboro lights and a packet of baby wipes after totally forgetting I'd booked it with place holders!!!

Double checking my Xmas order last week I did wonder how we were spending QUITE so much. I'd got 4 different bottles of tequila on there for some bizarre reason!

You mean EVERYTHING was missing? Bloody hell. That beats my Christmas Eve arrival of two items from a £165 order of two years ago. You def win the thread. I hope you managed to replace it all one way or another, today

My delivery was cancelled a couple weeks back. The driver told me the can had broken down, and the app said an hour delay. Then got changed to three hour delay. Still no delivery. Rang them up and they said it was actually cancelled after an hour, so shouldn’t have showed three hours.

i think I was more angry at the miscommunication than the cancellation - vans can break down, these things happen. I rearranged the delivery for the next morning.

9.30pm that night I get a call saying the delivery would arrive in the next hour. Err no. I wasn’t feeling too good so had just gone to bed. I said that the delivery was already rearranged for the next day.

I did get a voucher though which is always nice.

I think that’s the only time Ocado has seriously let me down.

Once, many years ago when Ocado were at their best, I got a call to say the van had broken down and my order cancelled. They immediately sent me a £25 voucher, and re arranged my delivery (it was pre kids so not a big deal).

90 minutes later an out of breath delivery driver rocked up, having walked the two miles from his van with our shopping!
