"Men will give up their happiness for their families but women will give up their families for their happiness."

My DH explaining the burden of being a man to me this morning.

He said what? 😕

The TBH I’d have thought it was the other way around. I’d like to know how many men sod off with the OW and leave their wives and kids, compared to women who sod off with the OM and leave their husbands and kids.

I know only of the first category.

I’ve only ever met one that did exactly that in my 50 years on the planet and she was so demonised and cast out by everybody that she had to relocate to the other side of the Midlands and not tell anybody that she had the first family.

And even when everybody was all grown up it was the first piece of information I was given about her as an introduction. This is Eileen. She fucked off and left her three kids.
How she avoided being burnt at the stake, I’ll never know

I'm .......speechless. Is he having some kind of breakdown or did the aliens get him?

SeriousFaffing · 22/12/2024 16:07

What the…

And what did you reply, OP??

Have you stopped laughing yet, OP?

Please tell us what he meant by this.

Hung over, watching Peppa Pig with DC, whilst feeling sorry for Daddy Pig.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Tell him to behave.

I don't doubt for a second that some men put their family's needs above their own, but as generalisation?? He's having a laugh.

I must tell this to dd's Dad. Oh, I forgot! I can't. He's not here. He's 900 miles away following his dream 🤦‍♀️

MissFancyDay · 22/12/2024 16:17

Hahahahahahaha

CinnamonJellyBeans · 22/12/2024 16:17

What an unobservant man.

I could not live with someone so stupid.

CatsndtheBear · 22/12/2024 16:19

How utterly vile.

I wouldn't be able to take him seriously ever again.

I imagine he also thinks Jordan Peterson has some good points.

KneesUnder · 22/12/2024 16:20

Didn’t know Laurence Fox had remarried.

SleeplessInWherever · 22/12/2024 16:20

@CocoapuffPuff

I mean, in fairness - my partners ex genuinely has done that. Coordinated less access so she can go to hotels with married men/meet up with casual flings etc.

Shes single, so very much free to do whatever she wants, but it has happened that way around here!

@Boomboombooo Mummy Pig had her entire novel that she’d written deleted by George and Peppa. Tell him to FO.

Purplecatshopaholic · 22/12/2024 16:22

lol, he’s got that the wrong way round. As sadly many, many women on here can testify. Is he always a dick?

MyBirthdayMonth · 22/12/2024 16:23

Has he had a bang to the head?

Kulwinder54 · 22/12/2024 16:23

A typical incel/'red pill' statement that you see do the rounds.

PerambulationFrustration · 22/12/2024 16:24

Daddy pig always seemed like a happy good humoured simple family pig

Daddy Pig is completely downtrodden, diminished and mocked by his awful family, tbf.

Never thought of Peppa Pig as a incel text though 🤔😅

arethereanyleftatall · 22/12/2024 16:25

If he doesn't see the irony in what he said and is completely unaware of male privilege, I feel very very sorry for you that you're lumbered with such a dimwit.

StopStartStop · 22/12/2024 16:25

So many men are taken in by this nonsense. We need decent people, not gender-stereotype obsessives.

sprigatito · 22/12/2024 16:26

New Year's resolution: ditch the delusional misogynist and live a free and happy life

Ponderingwindow · 22/12/2024 16:27

Oh, the put upon father who has to go along with Mommy’s plans because she does all the work and planning.

I remember my DH, who has many great qualities but is a bit of a bah humbug when it come to outings, complaining her never got any say in our life. So I told him I would be thrilled for him to pick the next family outing and the next holiday. I would be thrilled if he went clothing shopping with dc. I would be very happy to just let him make these decisions or to make them as a couple. Unsurprisingly, I still plan all our activities and he can attend or not, though he has the good sense to recognize it’s important for his relationship with dc to attend.

Hairyesterdaygonetoday · 22/12/2024 16:28

That is so weird. I thought he must have got a well-known quote back to front, but I’ve looked it up online and all I can find is as he said, so presumably quoting the person who made it up.

I have literally never heard anyone make that claim, No one would find evidence to back it up. I mean genuine evidence, statistics etc. Anyone could say “I know a man/woman who …” etc,

Dandylione · 22/12/2024 16:29

Where is he seeing women giving up their families for their own happiness. Is he normally so thick?
