Why when writing on here can't you just say the whole word instead of dd mil ect it's really annoying and lazy

OP posts:
MostHighlyFlavoredGravy · 22/12/2024 09:46

OnlyMabelInTheBuilding · 22/12/2024 09:19

And alot of anger.

Only abit, just a aswell.

Babbahabba · 22/12/2024 09:49

Why can't you use punctuation correctly? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Lillixyng · 22/12/2024 08:12

If we were splitting hairs, not that we are, or judging, (heaven forbid) . That sentence should read use punctuation correctly not properly.

Proper means in the correct manner as the circumstances dictate. Correctly means right as in not wrong.

Although I disagree with the poster, this is one of my bugbears.

Well obviously it was a direct reference to the title of the thread.

Same structure as etc though so I think ofc is fine.

Yes, that's true.

My mistake.

Oh I missed what OP deleted messages were. What was she saying? Something about horses neighing? 😆😂🤣

MajorCarolDanvers · 22/12/2024 11:18

Are you new to the www?

The OP accused us of whinnying. Although I don’t think that was what she was trying to say.

She may have been hoarse with rage.

Maybe she’s a bit unstable 😉

Really? I don't think you are 'getting' this thread 😂😂😂

I fear you may have missed out on the first couple of pages of the thread and assumed we were ‘still’ discussing MN abbreviations.

Actually it's 'et cetera'. Two words.

I thought it looked a bit wrong. Thank you. That will teach me not to try to be a smart arse🤭

Tbf an OP like this is enough to make anyone feel the need to be a smart arse Grin

Oh, the irony...

And a Chester draws.

There's someone who wrote a (well meaning and quite sweet) message on the noticeboard in our block who wrote about our "blocker flats"

Then you should be using 'et cetera'.

TSSDNCOP.

I KNEW this would pop up. I'm surprised it was so late.

We're all used to the terms on here now. It would be strange to not use it, etc.

I don’t know, I think 23 mins into the thread isn’t bad.

You might have expected the stupid responses you got in reply, sadly. This along with the constant bad language is why I am leaving Mumsnet. The standards are way too low for me.

I have two English degrees (First and distinction) and I'm managing to cope on here...
