To say your engagement ring goes on your finger first and THEN your wedding ring?

So, just that. As you'd have your engagement ring on already at the altar and then your wedding ring goes on, surely?

I don't wear my rings anymore, but when I did it was wedding ring first. My engagement ring came off a lot- eg to do the washing up, at the gym or in the shower. Wedding ring tended to stay on all the time as just a plain band so made sense to have it on first.

Interesting question. I believe at the ceremony the wedding ring is the only ring on the finger.
After that, they go in order of receipt ie, engagement first, wedding second.

My wedding ring is on first so that I can take my engagement ring off more easily if I need to and not for that daft reason.

I wear mine wedding ring, engagement ring then eternity ring.
The order that I got them in my case. We met and married within 10 weeks so I didn’t have an engagement ring.
I got the engagement ring a few years later cos I felt like I’d missed out 😂

Wedding ring first. Your supposed to swap engagement ring to other hand the day before until after the ceremony.

I have a wishbone style wedding ring, which goes on my finger first, Next is my engagement ring and lastly, I have a wishbone style eternity ring that sits on top of my engagement ring.

Surely it’s just personal preference - there is no right or wrong. I didn’t want an engagement or wedding ring - am still married!

Wedding celebrant here 🫶 definitely your wedding ring first as it should be the first ring on that finger on your wedding day so engagement ring is popped off until wedding ring goes back on. I suppose you should see it as the engagement ring is there as a promise of marriage but your wedding ring is symbolism of the commitment of marriage. Also, engagement rings are a ‘new’ thing compared to wedding rings 😊

Also this, you’re married with or without a ring, it is the words you say that legally marries you so it doesn’t much matter!

That’s how I wear my rings. I was engaged first so swapping them round seems odd and I don’t like how it looks on my finger!

Never had an engagement ring. Couldn't be arsed. Each to their own. They're just silly rules a random person made up.

My rings are far too big for me now as I’ve lost a load of weight so I’m not wearing either, but wedding band first then engagement ring.

Mine are engagement ring, wedding ring then eternity ring because that's how they sit best.

As I've got older and my fingers have swollen it's engagement ring, eternity ring then wedding ring. Or sometimes eternity ring, engagement ring then wedding ring. But I only wear all three when I go somewhere special.

Mostly I just wear the wedding ring, and for a few years I didn't even wear my wedding ring as I'd put on a lot of weight. Lost the weight, the ring went back on but now I've put it all the weight back on and the wedding ring may have to come off until I lose the weight again

I have it your way round sort of for safety; my wedding band is a tighter fit and doesn't have the stone in it that I've always felt would help slip my engagement ring off my finger if they were soapy or oily.

I rarely take off either ring. Could probably count on one hand the times I have.

Engagement ring first. It's more valueable in my case so I'd rather it be second to slide off. Once when raking leaves my wedding ring fell off and and the second almost did. I was lucky to find it the next day but it wasn't easy.

My wedding ring is on 24/7 so my engagement ring 💍 is on top of that .
