To be so disturbed by the male race currently

All the business with Lily Philips - how many men queued up to do what they did to her

And Gisele Pelicot

Are men really that obsessed with sex that they are so desperate to rape and queue up and be solely concerned with their own depraved satisfaction.

I know it's not all men but I'm feeling so disillusioned with men in general and it seems to be getting worse and not better.

Does anyone else feel like this? Also the only people I see posting about Gisele are female.

Where are all the men??

I'm raising boys and to be honest it's terrifying to look at my innocent children and the world they are growing up in.

Just me then that opened a thread on “the male race” expecting it to be about today’s men’s athletics?

Travelban · 20/12/2024 14:42

Yes I do wonder and I don't buy the 'but it's not all men'n 'I am so lucky I only know nice ones' either. I think men are very good at compartmentalizing and can become feral in the right conditions. I do believe that every man is capable of a lot more than we women naively would like to think. I say this as a mother of two boys and married woman. I would loge to believe that the men/boys I know would never ever do something like this but in so many cases you see wives or mothers or partners saying they were exemplary men yet still went onto abuse.

The men didn’t do anything to Lily Phillips, they accepted an invitation to indulge in a highly pleasurable and consensual activity with a willing participant.

Don't be so ridiculous

honeypotter · 20/12/2024 14:37

@Startinganew32 she's clearly not well. Who in their right mind would do this?

Well who in their right mind would queue for five minutes of sex where lots of other human have just had sex with the woman? Aren’t the men equally ‘vulnerable’? Just because someone makes choices you wouldn’t make doesn’t make them mentally ill. She makes six figures a week which is why she does stuff like this. She is not a victim.

adviceneeded1990 · 20/12/2024 14:45

Startinganew32 · 20/12/2024 14:32

She isn’t vulnerable. Far from it.

Of course she is. No one with solid self esteem and boundaries anywhere close to healthy would even consider doing what she did.

I don't understand how Gisele's husband got only 20 years? For 10 years of consistently drugging his wife, then running a rape brothel? Seems a bit low for me

Because French law is shit!

Some definitely would for 250k a week. And not all people view sex the same. She has said she had a good solid childhood, no abuse, she doesn’t have any addiction issues. She said she “became a slag” (her words) at uni and wanted to monetise it. She started doing nude pics then graduated into porn.
I don’t think my body could handle 100 men in a day or anything but eg if someone said they’d give me a million to sleep with 10 unattractive men, I definitely would.

Skodasuperb · 20/12/2024 14:54

I'm a man and I agree with you. It's fucking disgusting. The levels of misogyny are off the charts right now, and the hatred that the internet has generated is far more dangerous than the idiotic 'keep them in the kitchen' beliefs of the 1970s etc. Tackling this is our responsibility, but I have to admit that it's daunting, and feels like an uneven contest, trying to bring my kids up to abhor this vs the deluge of incellery that's now out there.

NapTrappedAgain · 20/12/2024 14:54

YANBU and I agree with you. Quite surprised at some of these responses. And yes one of your examples is far far worse than the other but both are examples of large numbers of men who seem to view woman as a sex toy to be used for their enjoyment. I agree it’s disturbing.

And even more disturbing is that these men probably have normal-ish lives. Families, friends, jobs and hobbies. I doubt it’s as easy to separate them from the “good guys” as people on this thread are making out.

You completely misunderstood what I said. I clearly I didn't day this. I don't know how you define 'nice'. I am surrounded by 'nice' men. Yes I could bot swear blind that in the right conditions they wouldn't do something which crosses a boundary. Could you? If so, you sre exceptionally naive.

Unfortunately the majority of them watch porn though, even the "very nice men". So they're quite happy to exploit women for their own pleasure.

FannyCann · 20/12/2024 14:56

There is so much vileness, it's depressing.
The best thing you can do raising children (girls as well as boys) is strictly police internet access and try to limit their exposure to porn.

Just linking to an upcoming webinar from Nordic Model Now about raising children in a pornified world.

26 January, 2pm to 3:30 pm.

'Highly pleasurable'? Being one of 100 man to insert his penis in her vagina for 2 minutes? 🤮

Yeah, right.

It's disgusting, disrespectful and the opposite of romantic. It's foul. A normal man would not consider that.

Your standards must be pretty low.

So as a man what are you doing about it? Come one tell us all what are you doing?

The OP wants to know.

Sexual intercourse and orgasms are, by design, highly pleasurable. I don’t understand why that statement is controversial.

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 20/12/2024 15:00

Do not make any excuses for these "men". You wouldn't want your Dad to be in the queue, you wouldn't want your son to be in the queue, you wouldn't want your brother to be in the queue and you wouldn't want your husband to be in the queue. And if you found out that Nigel at work was one of the 100, I'd bet you'd look at him differently.

Exactly. I don't know how any woman could like or respect anyone who was so dick driven. Lily Philips is a prostitute who knows what she's doing. As for crossing her boundaries - scummy men crash through personal boundaries, what a surprise!

EsmeShelby · 20/12/2024 15:00

I wouldn't want to shake hands with a hundred people in a day, let alone have sex with them.

I think that Lily is self harming. And the men are repellent.

Disrespectful to whom? Lily is making an absolute fortune off these men. My standards have nothing to do with it.

Nanny0gg · 20/12/2024 14:38

Not really

that's a compelling argument.

BellissimoGecko · 20/12/2024 15:02

@MemorableTrenchcoat - disrespectful to themselves, to Lily and to women in general.

And if you think that is highly pleasurable then you must have low standards. 🤷🏼‍♀️

MolkosTeenageAngst · 20/12/2024 15:03

Blabadder · 20/12/2024 14:17

They really aren’t that different.
Lily Phillips is self harming IMHO and what man in his right man would take part in that fiasco?

If we can recognise that Lily Philips wasn’t in her right mind can it not be recognised that these men likely weren’t in their right mind either? Porn and OnlyFans have clearly made Lily think it’s okay to sell herself and that sex can be a transaction and they have also clearly made the 100 men think it’s okay to buy sex as it’s a transaction. Both parties seemed to be driven by the idea of doing something shocking and novel. This wasn’t a normal prostitution scenario and it’s clear that everybody involved is obviously very fucked up.

It’s also a million miles from the Giselle case where a woman was drugged and raped multiple times, by multiple men, over a period of years at the hands of a man she thought was a loving husband. Lily on the other hand sought out 100 men to knowingly have sex with her, on camera, and she got paid 100 times for the experience. Lily was in control and at any point between man #1 walking in and man #100 walking out she could have said stop and ended the entire thing, Lily had a voice in what she chose to do which is something that cannot be said for Giselle. Giselle had no knowledge of what was happening to her, she had no voice, no opportunity to consent or to stop it, and it went on for years. The two are in no way comparable and it’s shocking if you really think they are similar situations.

Because French law is shit!

according to the woman from rape support group yesterday. If a woman reports a rape in England today. It won’t get to court until 2027

we aren’t that much better
