Agree that the definitions are probably clouding the issue a bit. So women are clearly a tiny minority but I am not so sure transmen and women are over-represented.

Page 19 shows demographics. I can't copy and paste but it says nearly all were male, there were 5 females and 3 of the whole sample were FTM transgender. It implies they were not included in either the 172 males or the 5 females but in a separate trans category. So this is all the known trans people in the sample.

Yes I think we are talking about the threshold for what counts as a mass shooting. There are far more than 5 or 6 instances of extrafamilial gun violence involving women but a large majority (including this one so far) remain under the threshold.
