This is deliberate. It's an attack on female rights by misogynistic males who resent being labelled as violent and hate that women have exclusive status in some areas of life. That protected status which excludes them is offensive from their perspective as it automatically deems them as the 'offender'.
Statistically speaking men are much much higher offenders of violent crime. Especially sexual violence. It's almost exclusively a male offence. By a huge margin and feminists in particular use it as a legitimate agenda basis for the reasons of safe spaces for women. Pointing to the horrific stats demonstrating that reality.
So if those stats are blurred over time, that will further undermine what many believe are females exclusive rights.
And they can point out it makes 'women' look more violent as it'll skew the statistics. Then men can claim 'women' are just as violent as men. Equality achieved!
