Bullseye coming back has made me think this .

These are the programs I’d like to see shown again:

Winner Takes All
Generation Game
Punchlines
Krypton Factor
Crackerjack
Ever Decreasing Circles
Terry and June
A Fine Romance
There’s No Place Like Home
3-2-1

I apologise - some programmes above are ‘ones for the teenagers’

I love thinking about the past, but it makes me sad at the same time. We can never go back to the greatest days of our lives and the best we've got to come will never live up to the memories of gold we grip onto so tightly.

This is exactly like me. I think about Christmas in the 80's a lot, when I was a young child. Miss those days

Anyone remember Soap? American sitcom from the late 70s. About two families, the Campbell's and the Tate's. Starred a young Billy Chrystal. Absolutely hilarious! I have one series on DVD (but no DVD player now).

There was a later spin off based on the Butler in Soap, Benson.

Keeping Up Appearances - wonderful. I suggest you listen to The Luxury Podcast

Dinnerladies
Allo Allo
Life On Mars/Ashes To Ashes.

There needs to be a channel where it just shows classic kids TV.

I didn't think of Dinnerladies. In my mind it was recent. It started nearly thirty years ago! 😳

I prefer it to the actual version! Jennifer Saunders looks uncannily like Stella Gonnet's character (whose name I cannot remember and cba to Google). "Would you step into my office please" 🤭.

That’ll be all thank you Joseph 😂😂😂

I loved House of Eliot (the clothes ❤️) and F&S parody was so funny.

bendmeoverbackwards · 12/12/2024 16:16

Anyone watch Rhoda?

This is Carlton your door man 😂

I’ll raise you -

Don’t Wait Up
That’s My Boy
Record Breakers
John Craven’s Newsround
Number 73
Bod

ALL on either BBC1 or ITV please ! No obscure digital channels !

I'm going to agree with Newsround.

I wasn't a huge fan of Blue Peter and I remember Newsround came on just before Blue Peter and it was how as a kid, I got my news. It was informative without talking down to kids. I think the version that is on now is not on frequently enough (think Newsround was almost daily) and I think it tries too hard to simplify and talk down to kids. A lot of 9-15 years are very very intelligent and do not need the simplified news.

Not sure about Record Breakers because I really think that a lot of the popularity around that show was down to Roy Castle. I'm not sure any 'new' presenter would be able to bring it along in the same way.

I would love if MTV (or another channel) brought back "The Real World"

School around the corner,
Keeping up appearances , they don't do humour now like they did back then
My family
Birds of a feather

93 episodes of Birds of a Feather are on U/UKTV player.

I think what many are hankering for is when TV drama and comedy had more heart and soul. Whereas a lot now seems to be focussed on exaggerated characters and situations. I get the feeling that people in TV don't want to associated with cosy stuff, only edgy stuff, though?

@Bonjovispyjamas And who remembers California Fever?

Me! 🙋🏻‍♀️ loved the theme tune!

Me too, was very catchy 😁

Watching tv was also a shared experience. The family watched it together, you’d talk about it at school and work. There wasn’t huge distractions. Now everyone’s on their phones watching their own thing, or checking their phone. Other than the odd big thing like tiger king, it’s completely different now isn’t it

Robert Lindsay ?

Saw him in a play about six or seven years ago, and he has aged well.

nevergreen · 13/12/2024 20:54

How about desert crusader and belle and Sebastian

JenniferBooth · 13/12/2024 20:55

Oooh loved it !

The young lad who played Frank in the Christmas special was hilarious and showed so much promise as a comedy actor. Unfortunately he had to retire from acting due to cystic fibrosis

"its a towel rail it came off the wall"
"why did he call you Mr Barclay"

"whats a dirty weekend"

And to his dads new girlfriends face..... "are you a gold digger"
