Bullseye coming back has made me think this .

These are the programs I’d like to see shown again:

Winner Takes All
Generation Game
Punchlines
Krypton Factor
Crackerjack
Ever Decreasing Circles
Terry and June
A Fine Romance
There’s No Place Like Home
3-2-1

I apologise - some programmes above are ‘ones for the teenagers’

As a kid I was desperate to go on Funhouse (another banger of a theme tune) and then as an adult I've always fancied a go at supermarket sweep.

Would love to see the early series of Bread again (she.is.a.tart!), Live & Kicking (with Zoe & Jamie), Lois and Clark, The Upper Hand.

The upper hand is what I was thinking of. Loved Lois and Clark too😊

There’s No Place Like Home

We've been watching this recently. Not sure where my OH found it, but we've binge watched it.

User14March · 11/12/2024 16:42

@FatLarrysBanned Howard’s Way is fab, reminds me of Mums all over UK on Sun after lunch ditto Tenko.

‘Alwwways there’…now ear worm…

We've been on a bit of a nostalgia kick for the last few years and we've managed to watch lots of old comedies like Hi-De-Hi, Taxi, Just Good Friends, You Rang M'Lord, The Good Life, Dear John (UK and US versions), Are You Being Served, Citizen Smith, Dad's Army, Keeping Up Appearances, and the like! We also managed to find a few old episodes of Telly Addicts - now that was fun to see :) I'll tell you something, watching comedies you knew when you were a kid is so different when you're an adult - you see them in completely different ways!
We watched Till Death Do Us Part and In Sickness and in Health - that's quite a painful watch as Alf Garnet was not a nice character - at all, but we stuck with it because I can never quit at anything!
Terry and June is one we'll probably get around to at some point - we've got Watching to watch next. It's made me appreciate how talented our TV script writers were back in the day. There's something lovely about watching stuff from the past, especially when a Christmas episode comes up!

Also anything with the actress Irene Handl in it ! She was so of my TV era !

Have a look at the listings for Talking Pictures TV, Rewind TV and the That's TV channels - all Freeview. Il

The BBC put Lois and Clark on iPlayer fairly recently but I couldn't bring myself to watch it again, just in case it was actually terrible and ruined all the nice nostalgic Saturday night early evening memories I have of it.

😂 I know exactly what you mean. Rewatching old programmes is normally a huge letdown 😔

Repeated I suppose !!

But even better - would like to go back to 1981 and start again from there ! 🙌

You can find most of these programmes on BBC. Iplayer,ITV x etc

Keeping Up Appearances - wonderful. I suggest you listen to The Luxury Podcast

Dinnerladies
Allo Allo
Life On Mars/Ashes To Ashes.

There needs to be a channel where it just shows classic kids TV.

AnAlpacaForChristmasPleaseSanta · 11/12/2024 16:51

This morning with Richard and Judy.
Win, lose or draw.
Going for gold!
Watching neighbours at lunchtime and then again at 5.30pm.

Fartooold · 11/12/2024 16:52

I'd live to see Rock Follies again, it's never been re shown.
I bloody loved it!

User14March · 11/12/2024 16:56

@DriveMeCrazy1974 yes to scripts, Vince’s lines a bit corny but so funny & Pen’s Mum.

Loved Albion Market - Helen Shapiro, the singer, was in it, wasn't she?! Also, Noreen Kershaw who was in Life on Mars. Didn't last very long but I enjoyed it whilst it lasted.

Penny's mum was fab, wasn't she?! I think John Sullivan really understood people - such a shame he died so young, I'd love to have seen what he'd have ended up writing in later years! He seemed to really get that sadness and humour go hand in hand sometimes!

User14March · 11/12/2024 16:59

@Auburngal we all know a Hyacinth! Sadly, sadly in some respects ;), that post war lady stalwart is dying out. Fave K Up Appearances episodes?

I know many long suffering ‘Richards’! ;)

We've just started rewatching Life on Mars - it's like a Christmas tradition now - we start LOM on the 9th of December, watch one episode a night leading up to Christmas Eve and then start Ashes to Ashes on Christmas Day - we've done this for about 8 years now!

User14March · 11/12/2024 17:02

@DriveMeCrazy1974 yes. He had that post war snobbery to a tee. Shades of Hyacinth. Altho poss Pen a lot more posh than Mum? She didn’t need to try.

Loved Pen’s Dad in the Terry’s chocolate orange ad
