They only became available in the 2000s
So even if you're only 40 now, you'd have been 27 in 2011 when the uncontrolled study opened, and 30 when they became available outside of that in 2014?

GIDS was making referrals for GnRH agonist treatment for gender incongruent youth long, long before 2011. Many of us went through that system long before WPUK and JK Rowling started the bandwagon of making attacking our treatment your entire personality.

You do not know our story. Frankly, that is a mercy in many ways. The clinicians in both GIDS and adult services had the foresight to protect us.

If this happens a lot I think ultimately it will need to be made a criminal offence to source "treatment" for your child from abroad which isn't legal in the UK.

In his speech in parliament Wes Streeting said it was a criminal offence to be in possession of puberty blockers without a lawful prescription but nothing was said about removing a child from the UK to have treatment

Butterfly's got form for... umm...describing having experienced an unusual treatment pathway. Butterfly claims to be both be trans and have a DSD, as well as having had treatment which wasn't being used at the time Butterfly says Butterfly had it. Very unusual. Still I think Butterfly's posts are Illuminating in their own way.

It long ago reached cartoonish levels of hostility - genuinely hilarious to see the desperate contortions whenever an inconvenient detail about my life is reflexively denounced as a lie. If you are healthy and fit then you're a smug and non-representative outlier who is leading others down a path of ruin, but if you have any medical conditions then they are damning evidence of the devastating irreversible evil of puberty blockers. Which you can't have possibly been subscribed, but which you had to have taken so that they can be blamed.
