Not going to name any specific women actors but I was just looking at one of my fave comedians whose just had a face full of fillers and she just didn't look great. She was about the same age as me (early 50s) and my friends and none of them have had anything done, (well maybe a little but it's not obvious if they have), but they all great and I'd be really shocked if any of them started to go down the route of such extreme fillers / botox etc.

I'm not saying I look like I've fallen into the fountain of youth, far from it, but I look, for want of a better word, normal.

I do get there is so much pressure on women in the public eye but after a certain stage of procedures it doesn't make anyone look any younger and just starts to make people look weird.

@Beentheredonethat0 yes on lighting so true, close ups & HD etc can be brutal. Graham Norton’s guests always look fab good lighting here I think.

@blueshoes yes meant upper bleph. Not sure if it was Brad or his surgeon decided, but it was a smart move to leave them or if they were touched, it's a subtle change.

I've always thought this about them. I find it's a difficult procedure to get right, from the results I mean. They end up looking startled or one eye is more open that the other. I've rarely seen a really great result. And because some individuals have very distinctive eye lid folds, ie. Renee Zellweger, when they have them removed, it doesn't look like them anymore.

oh shucks. I want an upper bleph.

Beentheredonethat0 · 11/12/2024 20:23

@blueshoes seen Fassbender in The Agency? I can see the work he's had done. It's good work but the upper bleph was overdone.
Sorry I'm a bit pernickety 😂

I am a fan of Fassy. So will put that on my list to scrutinise his eyes, amongst other things ...

Beentheredonethat0 · 11/12/2024 22:06

@blueshoes
Don't get an upper bleph, please 🙏🏻
Also a Fassbender fan, tbh I was quite surprised he did it.

Sorry he looks good in both. Which one is the before and which is the after?

I don't have your eye <haha>

@blueshoes

See, too much removed!
I liked his hooded eyes, they were part of his smouldering Irish look!

Beentheredonethat0 · 11/12/2024 22:13

@blueshoes right pic was original.
Left pic after bleph.
Close up shows it's not even either side 🤷‍♀️ as I said, it looks less like him now.

Disturbia81 · 11/12/2024 22:28

This sounds awful.. but he looks like people I've seen who've died, either that or a waxwork. They looked much better before

But a little part of me is glad men are doing it too

I think it was a US 12, so a UK 16, but I don't think she was big, long time ago now I can't remember

I remember in the Brigette Jones books she was complaining about being 9 stone 7 pounds or something around that. So must have been uk size 12. I'd love to be that weight now!

I see what you mean. Fassy is nicer with more smolder and less wide-eye. He looks cleaner now but has lost a bit of his brooding charm. Will need to re-watch Jane Eyre ...

Namechangefordaughterevasion · 11/12/2024 23:00

As a major supporter of tweakments what works for me is low level Botox around my eyes to keep me looking alert plus a thread lift every 2/3 years.

It's all very subtle . Once the bruising fades no one but me would ever know I'd had anything done but having tiny tweaks little and often has kept me looking pretty much the same for 10 years.

I aim for maintenance not alteration.

Beentheredonethat0 · 11/12/2024 23:36

@Disturbia81 haha 😝 you made laugh!
Hmmm, the corpse look!
Yes, men are now being scrutinised, not to the same level but similar to women.

Fassbender should have left his eyes alone.
But the worst and saddest by far is Zac Ephron!! He was gorgeous, like a young cute Alain Delon and that jaw implant is hideous. I can't watch him in anything, what was done to him was awful. 😳

MJnotMJ · 11/12/2024 23:42

I saw an insta thing by a surgeon who claimed both Kenny Rogers and Renee Zelweger had good facelifts but they looked completely wrong afterwards because they had - and should not have had - an upper bleph at the same time. It was the upper bleph aspect that completely changed the way they looked.

I had an upper bleph a couple of years ago (seemingly overnight my eyelids collapsed…) but I had that with on ophthalmologist. He was very cautious about what he did. I think a lot of general facelift surgeons do them and they really shouldn’t…

SocksAndTheCity · 11/12/2024 23:42

Zac Ephron shattered his jaw in an accident and had to have it completely reconstructed because it was hanging off his face, @Beentheredonethat0 . He'd probably rather have not had the work done too.

Beentheredonethat0 · 11/12/2024 23:45

Ahhh the gorgeousness that was Alain Delon!

Beentheredonethat0 · 12/12/2024 00:06

@MJnotMJ it was known as 'jaw-gate', didn't you know that some facial plastic surgeons reviewed Zacs claim re accident resulting in significant masseter increase and said it was highly unlikely!
Hmmmm could a celeb lie about their plastic surgery but have a good cover story?! Possible?
Feel free to review Dr Amir Karams (expert) opinion on his YouTube channel though.
Don't take my word for it 🤷‍♀️

MJnotMJ · 12/12/2024 01:36

@Beentheredonethat0 I think you meant a different poster?
I watched Zac in the NK movie and I suspect he’s become too focused on how he can ‘improve’ his looks. A shame as he was a stunning young man. I’d hate to be in the public eye like that, it must be far too easy to zoom in on how you look and become hyper critical of yourself.
I also doubt the (possible) jaw accident and resulting treatment produced such an extreme result…particularly as he looks like he’s been using fillers now as well. But you never know I guess. He’s still good looking, but very different.

jellybellysaregood · 12/12/2024 10:28

some work is good. Demi Moore looks incredible, but could do with gaining a few pounds and no more lip filler. They're great as they are now, any more filler and she's in weirdville

This has been scoffed at by so many plastic surgeons
And he's continued to do weird stuff to himself since then anyway

What I don't understand is how RZ regained her trademark hooded eyes. That initial series of pictures of her looking peculiar were the only ones I ever saw. She pretty much immediately reverted to looking like her again. You can't replace the skin that is removed from a bleph. It's a mystery to me
These are both recent pics

I remember Renee Zellwegger saying how great it was to be “voluptuous”. She was a perfectly healthy weight and looked amazing in the bunny girl costume, but rapidly went back to Hollywood skinny after the film. She had a lot of work too, went off the radar for a while and the re emerged looking unrecognisable.

uptheculdesac · 12/12/2024 11:19

I think RZ had her weird eyelid pictures in 2014. These pictures are from 2015 and she has her hooded eyes back so I don't know what is going on

I know I'm going off on a tangent now and it's not the point of the thread, but I find this fascinating. I agree that she looks a perfectly healthy, quite slim young women in the films, but I think she's described as chubby by one of the characters! This seems quite jarring now so hopefully it means times have changed a bit. Or maybe it was a comment on the character that said it. Anyway, just more evidence of the narrow 'acceptable' parameters that women have placed on them, along with never aging.

User14March · 12/12/2024 11:46

@Mylittlebobble even more ridiculous was Martine M’s character being known as ‘plumpy’ etc in Love Actually - she’s surely only about 8.5- 9 stone!

MJnotMJ · 12/12/2024 11:58

@uptheculdesac that would be her surgery settling down after swelling etc goes and continuing to age I think? If she had a brow lift that settles back down after a while. Re my aging comment I know that might seem odd but changes can occur quickly in some people anytime from late 30’s /40’s. It looks good now it’s back, people with naturally hooded eyes should appreciate the difference (I personally think).
