Fairytale of New York is a good Christmas record, but my favourite Christmas song is I'll Be Home for Christmas.

Second favourite is Tori Amos covering “have yourself a merry little Christmas” which is well worth looking up on you tube if you want to hear something beautiful

However I’m mildly amused by the pearl-clutchers who changed the lyrics to “you’re cheap and you’re haggard” instead of a bundle of sticks, while thinking “you’re an old slut on junk” is absolutely fine

I like the lyric change to “you scumbag, you maggot, you’ve taped over Taggart” the best

It’s one of my favourites but top of the pile for me is Kelly Clarkson Underneath the Tree, I just love it.

Same, but doesn’t seem to be that much of a favourite for others.

Interestingly I remembered watching years ago on YouTube Chris Martin performing a song called Wedding Bells that I don’t think they ever released and they clearly took inspo from that song for Christmas Lights - so if you like it definitely give Wedding Bells a listen on YouTube.
