To ask if there’s a social class issue surrounding Findus Crispy Pancakes ?

Also is there a class issue around Fray Bentos pies ?

I love those !

The only frozen food the middle classes are allowed to buy are 100% cod fish fingers.

I've always loved the Fray Bentos pies and there are two in my cupboard at the moment.

Not so keen on the Findus, but no judgement on those who are.

I'm clearly very common.

This is completely true. My parents were dentists and I have never had a crispy pancake OR a Fray Bentos pie. I'm 52.

I wouldn't think so. They are delicious and I ate them as a child. My friend who is minor danish royalty ( old money but no money now) loves them too.

I was very friendly with her late Maj, and we often shared a tinned pie while watching Top of the Pops together.

For years I thought Fray Bentos was the name of the pie man, then found out it’s actually the name of the town in Uruguay where the pies are made. Fun fact for anyone else who didn’t know 😂 I used to love crispy pancakes but they’re a bit rubbish now they’ve took the salt out.

I was raised on Findus Crispy Pancakes. How did they manage to stay hotter than the sun on the inside for so long when I wanted to eat it!!

Well it's ultra processed junk food, and those with lower incomes are often forced to go for such things since they're cheap with a good shelf life.

Those near the top of the class pyramid wouldnt have a clue what they are but the middle class masses often enjoy junk food so it's not a class thing akaik.

Fray Bentos pies have a rep for being terrible. If you have enough money to spend you’d probably buy a better pie.

My gut instinct was correct. Always trust your gut, especially if it's full of Findus pancakes.

There’s a woman on YouTube shows how to make crispy pancakes at home. And my friend calls the Fray Bentos pies “suicide pies” because of how lethal the tins are (and possibly that you’re likely to be suicidal before you’re reduced to eating one)

Well find us crispy pancakes were massively involved in the horse meat scandal a few years ago and it wasn't the middle class parents who were worrying about it.

My mother is very aspiring upper-middle class and I’ve never eaten either.

I wouldn’t have been allowed such things.
