@Imbluedalale @Munchyseeds2 @RaspberryBeretxx Thank you for your kind words. On the surface my husband seems ok, but it has hit him hard.

@Imbluedalale @Munchyseeds2 @RaspberryBeretxx Thank you for your kind words. On the surface my husband seems ok, but it has hit him hard.

Condolences. What a shock. Noticed a hard working man at work missing. Concerned. Two young guys went and checked for me. Same outcome. A bit of a loner but at work we collated our recollections of his interests and I liaised with a humanist celebrant who did a nice eulogy. A few of us from work attended. I am sure your friend's family will be able to bring a personal touch.

Apolloneuro · 20/12/2024 18:01

@Nottogetapenny so sorry about your husband’s friend.

Laura your story reminded me of the time I went into the kitchen in my bra and pants….the window cleaner was washing the French windows.

I’ve been very disciplined about my time on here. Not going to read or post on any threads other than this one.

Grrrpredictivetex · 20/12/2024 18:23

@Imbluedalale thanks for the pm. I've sent you my number.

Cuneburnal · 20/12/2024 18:55

Apolloneuro · 20/12/2024 12:38

@Cuneburnal welcome. Please do join us on the WhatsApp when it’s set up and I’m looking forward to seeing wedding photos.

Out of adversity, great things can grow. Our dear @Imbluedalale and this group are testament to that.

Thank you!

Nottogetapenny · 20/12/2024 19:24

@Apolloneuro Thank you, he was such a lovely man.

CleverLemonCat · 20/12/2024 21:48

I can counter the skirt in knickers and raise you one! Knock on door, just out of shower and grabbed dressing down to run down and open. Bent down to pick up Amazon parcel and my dressing gown fell open to reveal my naked body in all its glory. Luckily the poor bloke was already half way down the path so hopefully he didnt see and wonder why older lady was flashing him!

Re mice in shed. The little buggers will eat through anything, they once got into a bag of bird seed in the garage and there was literally just the plastic bag left. Strong plastic boxes are needed!

CleverLemonCat · 20/12/2024 22:07

I dont normally flash people by the way. I am quite respectable really😋

nornironlady · 21/12/2024 06:37

Good morning Spoonies.
I'm checking in to keep the thread active.
Wind is picking up here and due to rain all day so I will do the early morning dash to Sainsbury's.
I also need to wrap my sons gifts. He thinks he's not getting anything as under the tree is bare. I don't want the cat tearing everything to shreds while he climbs the tree 😁
It's been brilliant to see you all on the chat and learn more about your lives. I couldn't stop smiling at it yesterday. So thanks to all!

CherryogDog · 21/12/2024 08:46

@Imbluedalale thanks so much for linking your other threads, I'm part way through the first.
Usually I just read the OP's posts when it's a long thread, but I'm reading all of the answers.
You're so kind taking the time to talk to everyone and you are surrounded by lovely people supporting you.
I've just got to the bit where you said you're going to tell your spoon that you've made it, and I instantly had a vision of Shirley Valentine talking to her fridge, and now I picture you looking like a young Pauline Collins, absolutely beautiful!

Hi @CherryogDog how are you today? Awww thank you for reading my threads. There’s lots of ups and downs. I am very fond of my spoon, it was with me during my very darkest moments and saw me at my very worst.
That’s so lovely picturing me as a young Pauline Collins ❤️. Thank you .
What have you been upto today? I’ve been very lazy today I had a clean earlier, had countless cups of tea and now I’m having a choux bun. I really must stop eating cakes xx

@Imbluedalale I'm having a lazy day, I've got a ready meal in the oven, sadly no choux bun because I'm struggling to do my jeans up and I can't afford new clothes lol.
I came upstairs to put away my massive laundry pile, but decided to lie on my bed mumsnetting while my dinner cooks 😄
Sounds like you've been able to relax, long may it continue xx

Oh same, I’ve been too lazy today. I was meant to clean my bathroom but I had a bath instead🤦‍♀️.
What ready meal are you having? I had fish cake and a slice of bread. It’s blowing a gale here and raining like mad too xx

I had macaroni cheese, it was lovely! Then despite me bemoaning my "child bearing hips" looking like I'm birthing twin elephants (wearing pink converse 😅) I polished off some ice cream I found in the bottom of my freezer.
I've finally caught up with all your threads, and I've laughed and cried all the way through. If you ever write your memoirs, I'd buy a copy and ask you to sign them.
Hope your day is going well, it's sunny here in Lincolnshire but very windy xx
Ps, I have a lot of scars and I call them my tiger stripes.

Afternoon lovely, how’s your day going?
I lol 😂 at your ‘birthing twin elephants’ 🤣🤣 I felt exactly the same yesterday. I think I was eating out of boredom. Went through a whole bag of pretzel sticks and had a dry mouth like the Sahara afterwards.
Thank you for reading all my threads, I hope you enjoyed reading them. It’s all still very fresh everything that’s happened and I’ve been struggling with it all the last few days and I’m really dreading Christmas I can’t wait for it to be over . Sorry for sounding like a Scrooge but I’m finding it all hard. This year feels very different.
It’s sunny but windy here too it was really bad last night with wind and rain.
I love that you call your scars your tiger stripes I’m still very self conscious of mine but I know there’s worse things in the world xx

long time lurker of your threads and this is my first time ever commenting i think: how's your sunday going @Imbluedalale ? you're actually an inspiration & i am so proud of u <3

Hello lovely people! Sorry again for disappearing. I have a bad habit of getting behind with replying to things and then feeling guilty for not replying and the guilt makes me leave things longer still and it becomes a vicious circle. If you're all OK with me appearing sporadically and being a bit random, then I'll do my best. Massive hugs to everyone out there with their own mental or physical gremlins.

Morning 🌄 @Imbluedalale , hope you're OK.
I went to the Range yesterday to stock up on some cleaning supplies.
I'm planning on a 2 day house blitz in between animal duties (I have 2 horses and 2 dogs), standards (mine aren't that high 😁) have definitely slipped here.
I have some chronic health issues and when I'm well I'd rather be outdoors doing stuff than cleaning.
I love it when everything's clean and tidy, just hate doing it!
I'm not a Christmas fan, I find it very sad for many reasons, but I'll be thinking of you xx

Hi @CherryogDog , how’s your day going? I love getting new cleaning supplies I always get mine from Etsy now as they smell amazing and I love having a lovely smelling home. I used to be obsessed with clothes now I’m obsessed with cleaning products 😂. Oh wow that’s amazing that you have 2 horses and 2 dogs. I read that horses can help reduce depression by 30%
Are you doing anything over Christmas? Normally I don’t mind it but I’m absolutely dreading it this year.
Im just on my way to docs appointment to get my stitches taken out and my throat checked xx

Thank you @Imbluedalale ! I have not yet tried all the perfume, or even half (yet). Saving them now for the new year. Black Tulip remains the best so far!!

Hugs CherryogDog - Christmas can be so hard for so many people. I'm impressed at your cleaning blitz - I reckon your standards are higher than mine - I get annoyed at the mess then just think "fuck it" :)

ChoccieCornflake · 23/12/2024 12:09

I hope all goes well with your stitches and throat @Imbluedalale !

Ooh @Imbluedalale which supplies do you get on Etsy, if you don't mind me asking? I love supplies that work well but actually smell lovely!
