To think that Greggs is extremely reasonably priced

.. for what it actually sells ?

I my local Greggs last week and there are delicious ready made pizza slices for £2.30 -
large cooked steak pie for under £2

sausage rolls for around £1.20

also the app is very good I think -it breaks down all their foodstuffs individually and you have a free item for every 9th one bought

Come on - to have tasty ready cooked food for these sort of prices - it’s pretty good isn’t it ?

@KimberleyClark no but as I've said there are plenty of people in the areas surrounding the cities, and you can get decent alternatives in the city. The only choice is never Greggs, surely. I didn't criticise anyone who ate them, I simply stated people had become very disconnected from their food and it was people happy to eat it who generally were very vocal on my way of life.

Depends if you get enough sausage in the sausage cheese and bean melt...and whether it's an acceptable temperature and not cold!

Shooting your own meat is hardly a viable alternative for people who live in the city is it.

Depends on your tastes. Pheasants or peasants?

Thomas the Bakers? Red onion and cheese sandwiches to die for!

I love their chicken & stuffing rolls. Chocolate orange Danish too. Beats Cooplands any day.

A lot of snobbery about Greggs as there is about Wetherspoons. I like both places.

My DDs love a Gregg's voucher in their stockings.

My DF likes their sausage rolls. So against my better judgement I popped in this lunchtime. One person serving and they were doing two of the range of festive hot drinks. So coffee. And syrup, And a cream swirl, And sprinkles. And several people in the queue muttering FFS because they want a pasty and to get on with their day.

Just been in Greggs for a festive bake. All of the pastries were hot so not sure if the pps claim that they serve them cold because of the hot food tax is true

They come out of the oven hot, then go onto an unheated display. The temperature you get them at depends on how long it is since they came out of the oven. Therefore they count as cold food.

Oh I see. Really didn't fancy a cold pastry so I was lucky 😊
