Dad going to Disneyland without his son

Just a rant really about how heartless some men people are. A couple (in their forties with an 8 year old son) I know broke up two years ago. Man had found a younger model (25, blonde, curvy bimbo). I am not close friends with woman but we meet regularly (friend's friend). I run into the man and his bimbo often (she does seem really sweet and kind but not alot brain activity going on). Man has his son 2 week-ends per month and he always complains about how his ex is ruining him financially (I see him often so I don't want a conflict I just say that children are expensive and leave it there). Well today he said he's going to Disneyland during the christmas holidays.I said that "Ben" must be thrilled. That's when he goes "Oh, no we're not taking him. I'm sick of just thinking about everryone else. I already took him with ex when he was younger. This time me and "Bimbo" are going to just have fun. But don't tell Ben or ex. Haha". Bimbo giggling beside him. I went numb. I couldn't find any words. How can you be so utterly selfish it's beyond me. And how a man in his forties can enjoy Disbeyland is beyond me but that's another issue.
I don't want to tell the woman because it's none of my business and also because it's just so bloody hurtful.
AIBU not telling her?

Actually it’s interesting that Disney is all about Imagination, no matter what age you are.
The people on here that can’t imagine adults wanting to go to Disneyland or World because they wouldn’t, are perhaps the ones that should go! °o°

Exactly. Disney, like most holidays, is what you make of it. I don't enjoy Magic Kingdom but I love the animals at Animal Kingdom and the pavilions at Epcot.

Oh and thank you for my current earworm, 'I'm living in a box, living in a cardboard box'! 😂

Stop it! It’s in my head and I can’t get it out. 😂

But yeah, Animal Kingdom, as hot as it is, is great and I’ve never seen that happy lions or wild animals up close before. I love Epcot too. I’ve been many times, and no regrets. Sadly it’s so expensive now compared to a few years ago.

Better to be a bimbo than a b#tch.

Honestly I'd prefer bitch

Cornettoninja · 27/11/2024 17:17

I've seen FAR more offensive comments than 'bimbo' directed at younger models that poster's exDHs have left them for. Where is your female solidarity then?

@namechangetheworld

dunno, do I have to search your username every time I log on to see the same things you’ve seen just so I can keep your opinion of my opinion consistent? Seems ridiculous and takes the fun out of the forum tbh…

aside from that, I’m inclined to let far more slide when it’s a conversation involving the injured party and them dealing with current emotions. Certainly more than someone jumping on a third hand bandwagon. Life is nuanced, but it’s worth the effort to decode.

The word bimbo derives from the Italian bimbo, a masculine-gender term that means "little or baby boy" or "young (male) child" (the feminine form of the Italian word is bimba). Use of this term began in the United States as early as 1919, and was a slang word used to describe an unintelligent or brutish man.

😂it's just so ludicrous, isn't it?!

Op, I bet if you and the mum wanted to go on holiday, while the kid stayed with the dad, you wouldn't have a problem with it.

NewDaye · 28/11/2024 01:10

I think you’re angry at the wrong things. People of any age can enjoy Disney and Disneyland. It certainly is a couple’s holiday too, not just a children’s holiday.

Mind your own business. Parents are entitled to some alone time occasionally, if they take their children away at other times.
Your description of the man’s girlfriend as “bimbo” makes you seem utterly vile. Are you jealous of her?

OP doesn’t sound vile to me. She is not going to like or respect the woman who helped break up her friend’s marriage. Nor would I.

I’d dislike both the ex and his girlfriend, especially for leaving the little boy behind. I hope they have a crap time at Disneyland and the son has much more fun with his mum.
