Did anyone find out why 'buttery biscuit base' was removed in that post?

When are the BBC going to actually grow up and do something about the people they employ and endorse??

Is it possible to cancel one's TV license and get your money back?

. . . I am now actually thinking it is time to get rid of the BBC

Edited

you can cancel and get a refund for the months you've not used and I encourage everyone to not pay

Was it not Lisa Faulkner (John Torode's wife) who made one of the allegations about GW's sexual comments? (Sorry if this has already been mentioned I've not RTFT)

How he got four women to marry him I'll never know.

It may explain why they don’t stay married to him!

Thanks.

The BBC are clearly laughing at women by allowing a sleazy, pervy presenter to carry on harassing women in plain sight.

They won't ever be getting a penny of my money again.

Oh who knows he’s truly awful.

But imho John Torrode is the WORST.
Hes so impressed with himself and arrogant and superior. Even on Lisa Faulkner’s insta account, on which she constantly talks about how wonderful he is and totally fawns over him he manages to come across as just so unappealing and snooty to her. I have zero idea what she sees in him.

He has a fat tongue.

SnowFrogJelly · 30/11/2024 01:23

Like Jamie Oliver, it's too big for their mouths.

Apparently Wallace is saying accusations are coming from
'Women of a certain age'.

So that's nice. Hmm

Middle class women of a certain age.

if anything validates that man can’t read the room it’s that. It is likely one of the poorly thought through statements and will cause some uproar.

honestly it’s like he just punched himself in the face.

From what I've read I'm inclined to think those speaking out are not intimidated by him, but recognise the inappropriateness of the toad's behaviour. Younger women and those nearer the beginnings of their careers may feel less able to? There's a power imbalance and much of his shouting work has been as a judge in competitions where people will have been reluctant to speak out in case it ruined their chances. He's repulsive yet must have thought he was untouchable. Also thick if he didn't realise in this day and age that his behaviour amounted to sexual harassment.

AhBiscuits · 01/12/2024 08:18

Is he actually a real person or is he playing a character? 😂😂

His statement is like
I've worked with loads of women and only been inappropriate with a comparatively small amount of them, I should be commended for that.

No one of the contestants is saying she formally complained, about a decade ago. When she’d have been early 30s.

it’s not women of a certain age. And some of the camera men are complaining.

this statement is really Ill advised from him, its ageist, classist, sexist.

on insta he’s busy playing the victim.

Isn't it just! He's in a competition with himself to see who is the biggest dickhead.

Yes, he needs a pr agent. He’s made a terrible mistake today with that video.

Username056 · 01/12/2024 10:30

I always found him really smarmy and I hated that “cheekie chappie” image which I always thought was really fake. He ruined Masterchef for me. I actually thought the idea of the Factory programme was an interesting concept and would normally be the type of programme I might watch but I couldn’t because he was on it. I am actually very relieved that he won’t be in our tv screens with anything new, to say nothing of course of the relief of people who won’t have to work with him.

Oh he’ll have one.
And he’ll be ignoring them because he thinks he knows better.

NetZeroZealot · 01/12/2024 10:38

As more of this stuff comes out, surely the BBC can’t continue to show the current series of Masterchef?

C8H10N4O2 · 29/11/2024 08:41

Interesting as one of my clients saw similar, probably about a decade ago.

He was a contestant, hated the atmosphere and the lewd jokes and what he considered to be outright bullying of one of the female contestants. He was also reminded very firmly about his contract and the NDA and reminded the lawyers would be visiting if he breached his contract. At the time he was in a fairly junior position and just wanted to get away from it all.

I wonder how many more contestants will come out of the woodwork now that any attempt to enforce an NDA will be blown away as its public domain?

NDAs rarely hold much weight in the context of whistleblowing/ HR investigations anyway, regardless of public domain.

And i don't think the BBC, or ITV, are any worse than multiple other employers in this context - although they are clearly higher profile. Misogyny, sexual harassment and 'boys culture' is still rife across many, many industries. We've actually learned surprisingly little over the past few decades.

crumblingschools · 01/12/2024 12:22

Schools are rife with misogyny, this problem is not going away anytime soon.

MrsBennetsPoorNerves · 01/12/2024 12:46

Jeez, his poor pr adviser must have had his head in his hand this morning. What a way to dig yourself into an even deeper hole than ever. That video this morning just oozed misogyny.

RedToothBrush · 01/12/2024 12:52

The editing team will be shitting themselves.

There will be a huge amount of cringing and going 'thats bad' at certain comments.

I would suggest that this year's MasterChef will make for a good drinking game for BBC executives.
