I like MC but wish they’d get some new phrases.

It’s all “points of difference, “elevate to the next level”, “brings the dish together”.

Actually that’s just Marcus.

Edited

Haven't watched MC for a couple of years but it used to drive me insane how they'd always say "plate of food" instead of dish on The Professionals. Once I'd noticed it I couldn't unhear it.

WatchOutMissMarpleIsAbout · 28/11/2024 20:07

Hardly a surprise.

I think Gregg is autistic and people often hate autistic people without knowing that's why.

Oh dear. Your post hasn’t aged well. Turns out people had a bloody good reason to hate him. Nothing to do with autism!

WiddlinDiddlin · 28/11/2024 20:18

Yeah I am a bit fed up of Marcus wanging on about 'points of difference' and the other stock phrases (and also Torodes with his pronunciation of 'absolutely'... 'it's aBsolutely John, not aPsolutely, there is no P... fuck off!... )

Ugh.

I recall Lisa Faulkner getting loads of stick in the DM comments, a couple of weeks ago… She was right.

Maybe it went away when her husband made an inappropriate comment to Cat Deely on This morning a few days later.

Loads of BBC employees are talentless.

Gregg was alright he's just told a few bawdy jokes 12 years ago. You cant judge the past by todays standards. The line to be crossed was in a different place back then.

I doubt Kirsty Wark would be speaking out now if it was just a case of a few bawdy jokes.

Supposedly he walked around the studio wearing only a sock.
Not on his foot.

Hardly a bawdy joke.

Also to be honest I dont like Marcus either he has no warmth about him at all, very dry and cold

I like John but thats not professional MC I think

Omg, yes! Marcus is really cold. He makes Greg seem like a sparkling wit.

I like John too. I think people are put off by his looks - he looks big and glum, but his actual behaviour is that of a kindly soul.

There really isn’t enough bleach in the world. This alone should justify him being sacked on the grounds of food hygiene.

Whatsitallaboutanyway · 28/11/2024 20:28

What comments did Lisa Faulkner get in the Dm a couple of weeks ago and what inappropriate comment did her husband make to Cat Deeley please?

Itsallsostressful · 28/11/2024 20:29

Didn't he tell his strictly partner Aliona he 'goes comando' 🤮 poor woman was very relived looking to be voted off.

I'm not defending him, but in some circles this is a bawdy joke. He must have forgotten that he was working in the hallowed halls of the Baybaysay. Or deluded himself into believing that they love his cheekiechappie persona.

What did he say

John was plating up a dish of toad in the hole during a cooking segment of This Morning when he joked: 'I never thought I'd say to Cat Deeley, ''Here's a little sausage for you darling'''

This Morning viewers appalled as John Torode makes 'sexual' comment

The TV judge, 59, was presenting a cooking segment on the ITV breakfast show and demonstrating how to make toad in the hole.

Are you really offended at that?

the80sweregreat · 28/11/2024 20:33

Obviously John Torode was thinking of Gregg Wallace at the time then !

I’m not, but it sounds like the same tasteless jokes that Gregg seemed to be making.

Whatsitallaboutanyway · 28/11/2024 20:38

I reckon Cat D would have found that funny…ffs it’s not offensive surely

What were the comments saying about Lisa F and why?

She didn’t elaborate. Just said that sometimes he would make rude jokes.

Ha, when we used to watch it we used 'plate of food' as a drinking game. Soon had to stop that!

GrouchyKiwi · 28/11/2024 20:40

Wrong thread. Should be talking with the other MC people. Grin

The least talented (and luckiest) man on tv

I think he has something on someone very high up in TV. That's the only explanation I can think of.

bananaskin123 · 28/11/2024 20:45

What size sock I wonder.... baby's or extra wide mens....

CurlyhairedAssassin · 28/11/2024 20:47

Handshake · 28/11/2024 20:32

It's not offensive as such. Just so cringe. Total throwback. Not witty because smutty innuendos seem very old fashioned now and belong either in a bygone era or something said by a drag queen in a show in Benidorm.

Lookingatthesunset · 28/11/2024 20:47

CandiedPrincess · 28/11/2024 18:26

@NigelHarmansNewWife Actually I have. But I don't see a lewd joke as sexual harassment because it's not. Shit, I'd have been in trouble years ago.

Depends on the circumstances.
